CARRIE DASHOW dropped a large dollop of lemon sorbet into a glass of Guinness, stirred, drank and proclaimed that it tasted like a “chocolate shake.”
HOW’S IT DO THAT?

Everyone has different tastes, so which types of fruit do you include when making fruit salad?
I include: Watermelon, Strawberries, Red Grapes, Pineapple, Raspberries, Cantatope, Blueberries and sometimes orange chunks. I used to include Kiwi slices however now I'm allergic to them (I love them though.)

At the welcome back party I planned on YumSugar and threw on Saturday night I made a rustic red fruit tart for dessert. It was absolutely delicious and there was just enough for everyone to get a slice.
Red Fruit Tart
From Rachael Ray magazine
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick (4 ounces) unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
Ice water
1 large egg, separated
1 1/4 pounds ripe plums (sliced), strawberries (halved) and cherries (halved)
Sugar, for sprinkling
1 tablespoon milk
2 tablespoons apricot jam, heated and strained
In a food processor, pulse the flour with the salt.

Edy's No Sugar Added Frozen Fruit Bars are the perfect thing for a hot summer day. They are made with real fruit and each is only 30 calories per bar and 2 grams of sugars (and 2 grams of sugar alcohols).
Best of all - they taste great.

You really don't need a special cleaner for your fruits and vegetables. Just wash them with a weak solution of dish detergent and a scrub brush works just fine. If you still insist on using a special wash.

I was reading the Prevention.com blogs and I came across this interesting blog by food psychologist Brian Wansick. He talks about some differences that have been noted between people who are fruit lovers vs. veggie lovers.

When I saw this, i thought it was very interesting... fruit soup? But when I looked at the pictures and read the recipe, it sounded soooo good for when you are staying indoors, reading a book, in a cold rainy and wintery weather :).

cashew apple = cashew fruit = marañon = merey = caju = cajueiro Notes: This Brazilian fruit looks like a squishy apple with an odd-looking stem growing out of it. According to botanists, though, the grayish "stem" is actually the fruit, and it encloses the kidney-shaped cashew nut that we're familiar with. The cashew apple is the yellowish-orange part that's attached to the fruit.

I'm a sucker for those fabulous fruit tarts (you know, the little ones in bakeries with crust, cream inside and glossy fruit on top). So I came up with a simple and healthier version that satisfies my cravings (inspired in part by the frozen fruit/whip recipe posted in February).
There's lots of room for customization, too.

Beauty is about more than just what you look like on the outside. Sometimes, you need a little help in order to relax and wind down after a hard day. Well, what better way to give yourself some much needed down time than a DIY facial and a homemade candle?
