What I find interesting about this is both how much has changed AND how much hasn't.
The Letter:
Tyler, Texas
November 24, 1963
President Lyndon B Johnson
The White House
Washington D.C.
Dear Mr. President:
In this time of mourning and appreciating how very busy you are, I still must write about existing conditions here in East Texas, even if you are too busy to read this, because I feel it is my duty to do so.

Most of my life I've often wondered why Thanksgiving seemed to be for many families a trigger word for family dysfuction. Why individuals couldn't just let that disagreement with another family member go for one bloody day and enjoy some good food and conversation with more pleasant family members. I have to keep reminding my self that I'm pragmatic by nature and that is apparently unusual.
I found an article with some helpful tips.
Holidays are meant to be happy, joyous and life-affirming times.

The massacre at Fort Hood last week is the perfect apotheosis of the liberal victimology described in my book "Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and Their Assault on America." According to witnesses, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan entered a medical facility at Fort Hood, prayed briefly, then shouted "Allahu akbar" before he began gunning down American troops. Now I don't know which to be more afraid of: Muslims or government-run health care systems.

She is much more Religious Right then I like in Conservative politicians, but I still found her interesting.
The new wave of female firebrands striking fear into liberal America
Right-wing radicals are already pinning presidential ambitions on a mother-of-five from Minnesota who calls herself a 'fool for Christ' and condemns Obama as a socialist at the head of a gangster regime

Sarah Palin didn't put an index in her book. So we made one for her.

Christmas Day is an annual holiday celebrated on December 25 that commemorates the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. The day marks the beginning of the larger season of Christmastide, which lasts twelve days.
Sending a christmas card to express our greeting seems never be out of fashion.

A nice sentiment?
Maybe not.
The psalm reads, “Let his days be few; and let another take his office.”
Presidential criticism through witty slogans is nothing new.

Ok, ladies I promise this is my last cruise look. :) This was taken on 11.14.08. We were all sad that we would have to leave the ship the next day so we tried to have as much fun as we could that night.
