Controversial Australian photographer Bill Henson’s art opening in Sydney, Australia was shut down by police last Thurdday after complaints about photos featuring nude preteens and teenagers. 20 photos were seized and the police plan to interview the children and their parents. Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has called the photos “absolutely revolting.”
The dark subject matter of Henson’s photographs often include half-nude children in disturbing, sometimes suggestive poses in low light and amid sweeping landscapes.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is featured in the L’Uomo Vogue music issue, though he talks less about music than politics, the color black, and fashion. Diddy, who is the founder and creator of the Sean John fashion label, sets a theme for his feature with “Black on Black,” dressing himself in all black, in a black room, on black furniture, and in one picture, sitting with his 2-year old twin daughters on a black fur throw.
L’Uomo Vogue is a men’s version of Vogue, very fashion and style driven, and October is the Music Issue.

Madonna said she found the controversy surrounding her adoption of David Banda from Malawi "painful," but added, "It made me stronger, so I guess I can't complain."
Speaking after her documentary about Malawi, I Am Because We Are, premiered at the Cannes film festival Wednesday, she noted, "When a woman has a child and goes through natural childbirth she goes through birthing pain – and this was my birthing pain."
The singer, 49, didn't say exactly when the adoption of David, 2, would be complete, but Malawi court officials said Thursday that the judge overseeing the case would make his ruling on May 28.

No humble pie for Richard Gere.
While the actor may have attempted to kiss and make up a year ago for his cultural gaffe of planting a public smooch on Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty at an anti-AIDS show in New Delhi – Gere issued a formal apology after the incident – an apparently unrepentant Gere is now taking pride for having stirred the pot.
"It's a badge of somewhat insane courage," Gere, 58, told Reuters, citing others who had also been singled out for similar offenses.
