On a balmy autumn day in Vancouver, a young man is longing for a walk outside in the sunshine, and deciding against it. Far easier for him to stay in his hotel room, cocooned in five-star luxury with a mobile phone that has run out of charge, safe at least from the girls chanting his name outside. Robert Pattinson, 23 and from Barnes in southwest London, ought still to be one of Hollywood’s beautiful dreamers, moving up the ranks of movie acting, enjoying his American adventure, his guitar, his good looks.

I haven’t been able to get a decent night’s sleep in at least a week. I have no idea what’s changed, but suddenly I’m awake for hours in the middle of the night. Last Wednesday, I was having weird dreams about Avril Lavigne trying to make soup out of me.

There are a couple more pictures at the link, but I included the best ones here.

David Beckham is apparently the new Michael Jackson. Don’t worry, his nose is fine, and he hasn’t done anything illegal with minors. But he has caused a screaming, fainting, police-restraining frenzy a la Michael Jackson in 1984.

When I found out I was two months pregnant (five years ago), I was obviously surprised, because my husband and I always used a condom and I had been taking the pill religiously for years. AND I had my normal period for those two months. The only reason I thought something was wrong was because every summer when the weather changes to really really hot, I get sick and can’t eat, etc.
