Here is a panel that has to deal with their toughest crowd- their biggest fans. When you adapt a comic book it's a bit different than adapting a well loved book or TV show. Comic book fans are critical, unforgiving, vicious, and represent one of the most prominent voices on the internet.

Here is the reason I began to go to Comic-Cons. Easily the most popular panel, Kevin Smith can be found on any major Comic-Cons roster, double the amount when he’s actually got something to promote. He’s been at the Comic-Con in San Diego every year for 12 years.

This panel started off with a surprise appearance by Neil Gaiman and director Henry Selick (Nightmare Before Christmas). You might remember from my Paramount Pictures panel post that Neil Gaiman was deemed Comic-Con's "Guest of Honor" this year as he had so many upcoming projects to talk about. I was very sorry to have missed his exclusive panel on Friday in lieu of Clive Owen and Shoot 'Em Up (battle of my two favorite Brits!), though his surprise visit told me that I might be able to obtain tickets to a special sneak peek of his 2008 stop motion animation film Coraline.

Kicking off the day today was Warner Brothers with a bunch of updates on a lot of projects.
Get Smart
We were treated to a full length trailer which offers even more laughs than the teaser that's been in theaters lately. It shows more of the cast and gives us a taste of the physical comedy and action.

I'm really lucky I was able to get into this panel- they filled the second largest room at the center! Next year they'll have to hold this in the big hall. There were a lot of people turned away today, which is a darn shame because this was an amazing panel.

Things got off to a very good start today with Paramount Pictures as the first panel to kick off Comic-Con in San Diego Convention Center's monstrous Hall H. They brought with them a slew of goodies, including some casting announcements and footage.
Hot Rod
Paramount had so much to offer in their 2 hour slot that everyone was a bit rushed.

This afternoon I headed down to San Diego to attend my second annual Comic-Con. I'm really excited to be down here and with last year under my belt I feel like an old pro. I have my panels all scheduled out, allowing for some floor cruising time, and can't wait to grab up all the freebies and exclusives!

So far, the best video I've seen of the panel is by Gonturan74.

Saturday is easily the biggest and most popular day for Comic-Con. It sells out the quickest and obviously has the biggest draw for those who have a regular work week and can't take the time off. Therefore, a Saturday panel in the big hall only belong to the biggest studios and most exciting events that year.
