DENVER - A man accused of checking out hundreds of books and DVDs from libraries around the Denver area and then trying to sell them will be doing all his library borrowing from now on behind bars.
Denver prosecutors say 34-year-old Thomas Pilaar was sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered Tuesday to pay $53,549 in restitution. He pleaded guilty in May.

The Vancouver Canucks have been playing well at home late in the regular season. They'll try to rely on that home-ice advantage to end a long losing streak against the Colorado Avalanche and draw closer to a playoff berth.
After stopping one slide its last time out, Vancouver will try to snap a five-game skid against Colorado on Tuesday night.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A sheriff says a Colorado couple's report that their 6-year-old son was in a balloon that was hurtling away from their home was a publicity stunt.
Sheriff Jim Alderden says Richard and Mayumi Heene "put on a very good show for us, and we bought it."

First, a nod to Lady P's Penguins who lost a hard fought battle at Madison Square Garden last night to the NY Rangers in OT. No worries for the Penguins, they are one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference and the American-born Hockey God (as ESPN's John Buccigross has named him), Chris Drury netted the power-play goal 1:46 into overtime. The Penguins' loss prevented the Pens from clinching their division title last night.

The annual ranking looks at 22 indicators of health, including everything from how many children receive recommended vaccinations, to obesity and smoking rates, to cancer deaths.

Okay sugars, I took yesterday off because I was busy in the yard and also madly organizing all my tax documents (UGH). I have a system and spreadsheet made out for next year, but I'm just not as organized as my sissy, Bizzybee! :-)
Lots of league action yesterday and I did take time out as I was purging paperwork to take in the "Battle of Alberta," Edmonton vs.
