Toxic Omnibus Anti-Energy, Anti-Civil Liberties Stew
By John Berlau
In discussing the 1,248-page Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009, signed yesterday by President Barack Obama after being rammed through the House and Senate by use of unprecedented parliamentary maneuvers designed to cut off debate, two aphorisms come to mind. The first is the old saying that sunshine is the best disinfectant. But the second is that, at least for many members of Congress, it's easier to disguise the flavor of spoiled ingredients if one throws them into a big toxic stew.

A new obscenity ordinance in Georgia prohibits the sale of "any device designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs," which could extend to banning ribbed condoms and certain lubes.
Violation of the ordinance can lead to six months in jail and a $1000.
The South—or at least, certain lawmakers there—has never taken kindly to sex toys, the selling of which is banned in several states.

A nice sentiment?
Maybe not.
The psalm reads, “Let his days be few; and let another take his office.”
Presidential criticism through witty slogans is nothing new.

The Hasan Case: Overt Clues and Tactical Challenges
By Scott Stewart and Fred Burton
In last week’s global security and intelligence report, we discussed the recent call by the leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Nasir al-Wahayshi, for jihadists to conduct simple attacks against a variety of targets in the Muslim world and the West. We also noted how it is relatively simple to conduct such attacks against soft targets using improvised explosive devices, guns or even knives and clubs.

Do prosecutors have total immunity from lawsuits for anything they do, including framing someone for murder? That is the question the justices of the Supreme Court face Wednesday.
On one side of the case being argued are Iowa prosecutors who contend "there is no freestanding right not to be framed."

Yes, "The One" Should Fail
By Quin Hillyer on 10.23.09 @ 6:08AM
We will not be intimidated, we will not be bullied, we will not be silenced, and we will not lose. Barack Obama's thugocracy is dishonest, dangerous, and malicious, but it cannot be stronger than the aroused might of a free people. His foreign policy deliberately debases U.S.
