Vampires, shapeshifters, and a barmaid who can read peoples' minds ... HBO's True Blood returns on June 14, 9 PM.
I've been impatiently waiting for the white-hot series to come back since the toenail-painted black foot slumped out of Andy's car door at the end of season one.

...During his speech to the conservative American Enterprise Institute last week -- immediately on the heels of President Obama's address at the National Archives -- former Vice President Dick Cheney used the euphemism "enhanced interrogation" a full dozen times.
Smothering the reality of torture in euphemism of course has a political value, enabling its defenders to diminish the horror and possible illegality. It also gives partisans the opening they need to divert our attention by turning the future of the prison at Guantanamo Bay into a "wedge issue," as noted on the front page of Sunday's New York Times.

Sexier, tougher, naked-er. That just about sums up the second season of HBO's vampire drama 'True Blood.' (Yeah, this definitely isn't 'Twilight.') Star Anna Paquin loves that "anything is possible" on her show -- even if it involves a lot of nudity.

Watch with Kristin from E!Online was able to speak to the cast at the True Blood panel discussion at the PaleyFest’09 and also get a sneak peak at what we can expect for season 2. So here is the article in its entirety with a video clip for season 2.
Despite the fact that True Blood stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are a rock-solid twosome in real life, the Bill-Sookie-Eric triangle was the question of the hour as the cast and producers of HBO’s vampire drama hit the Paley Center for Media’s 25th Annual TV Festival Monday night.

Stephen Moyer, True Blood’s Bill Compton, called a certain angsty-teen vamp known as Edward Cullens, some funny names.
Twilight's toothsome Robert Pattinson, Moyer simply says, "He's a pussy! He's the Slim-Fast, Diet Coke of vampires."

Missing in Action: American mainstream media
By Larry Elder
Back when our military failed to find stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, The New York Times apologized to its readers.
Why?
Before the war, the paper wrote article after article — relying on both government and non-government sources — that assumed the presence of stockpiles.
