I went to see Bedtime Stories today with my sister and friend and i was pleasantly surprised.
Plot: Marty Bronson (Jonathan Pryce) who raises his son and daughter on his own has to sell his homey motel to clever Barry Nottingham (Richard Griffiths) who promises to make Marty's son manager, when he's grown up and has proven himself. Nottingham pulls down the motel to raise a pricey hotel.

What does everyone do for bedtime routines and are your kids good about going to bed?
Every night at around 8:35, we go up to "Mom and Dad's" bed, pick a little something to watch on tv (I guess that's our version of a bedtime story) for about 10 minutes, and then he uses the bathroom and gets in his jammies. Then he gets in bed and Mommy and Daddy cover him and rub his back.

By K.C. Baker. Jessica Simpson is used to traveling in style – five-star hotels and restaurants, entourage in tow – but last week she experienced something brand new, by roughing it Uganda. There, along with her BFFs Ken Paves and Cacee Cobb, she went to film the latest installment of her upcoming docu-series, The Price of Beauty, set to air sometime next year.

I am hoping there are some fellow co-sleepers out there that can give me some advice!
We started the transition from co-sleeping when my son was 3 (he is now 4). He loves his room and his bed and wants to sleep there, but one of us still needs to lay down with him to get him to fall asleep.

How many hours do your kids sleep at night, do they take naps during the day, and how old are they?
My son sleeps from 9 pm until 6 am and he takes 1 1/2 to 2 hour nap every day. He is 4 1/2 years old.

As a mom of three teenagers I sometimes wonder if they listen to half of what I say and find myself praying they at least allow some of what they are ignoring to seep into their subconscious. Anyway that is my life day in and day out…listen to me…pay attention…this is important…. been there right?
Kids seem to take on parts of our own personalities. When they do, seeing that little piece of yourself in a mannerism, a laugh, or perhaps that one trait you wish they hadn’t grabbed onto and kept as their own; it can just drive you nuts. On the other hand, it may just make you want to burst out in laughter.

So I finally decided to unpack my boxes of books and organize them on the new bookshelf today and while doing so, I came across this gem of a book, buried in the midst, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
It immediately brought me back to July 2000 right before my freshman year of college was to start and 3 months after being moved to the states in the sweltering S. Carolina heat.

The argument over whether same-sex couples should marry in the District is about a decade past its expiration date. The reality of people's lives long ago outstripped the usefulness of the gay marriage debate.
You can go to just about any public space in this city today and see same-sex couples: Two women picking over the tomatoes at the Anacostia farmers market; two men taking notes at a PTA meeting on Capitol Hill; two women arguing in a Georgetown restaurant over who does the dishes and who pays the bills -- the things all married couples do.
