Arab investors have lost 2.5 trillion dollars from the credit crunch, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad al-Sabah, whose country hosts an Arab economic summit next week, said on Friday.
"The Arab world has lost 2.5 trillion dollars in the past four months" as a result of the global financial crisis, Sheikh Mohammad told a press conference following a joint meeting of Arab foreign and finance ministers in Kuwait.
He also said that about 60 percent of development projects "have either been postponed or cancelled" by the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states because of the global meltdown.

Dalia Mogahed, senior analyst and executive director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies, was appointed this month to Obama's Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) raised an Israeli flag for the first time this week in recognition of an Israeli delegation attending an international energy convention, the Foreign Ministry said Thursday.
Israeli representatives Simona Halperin, of the Foreign Ministry, and Dr. Avraham Arbiv from the Ministry of National Infrastructures, sat under the flag while participating in the committee meeting of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

The song is actually by Cheb Khaled, Faudel & Rachid Taha and it's on the Putumayo album 'Arabic Groove'. It's also featured in the movie 'Something New' with Sanaa Lathan and Simon Baker(for those who've seen it, might recall the song. for those who haven't, it's a really good film).
