While the kids go trick-or-treating this Halloween, the adults go out and party. One of the most amazing parties can be found in the Halloween season when everyone is dressed so outrageously, you can get away with wearing anything. If you're hosting the party, the biggest challenge that you will have to overcome is not about the food or the venue or the theme but it is actually about getting as much people to come to your party.

Dogs were one of the first animals domesticated by humans and have been domesticated for some 10,000 years.
The Saluki, the name deriving from the Arabic word meaning ‘noble one', is the oldest known breed of dog. In ancient Egypt, they were bred as hunting dogs.

As a supporter of the ASPCA you share our commitment to alleviating the fear, pain, and senseless suffering of animals. And it is through the generous membership support of friends like you that we are able to make enormous strides toward our goal of preventing animal cruelty and finding permanent, loving homes for all of America's adoptable pets.
Through enforcement and education efforts, your financial support will help us protect animals from all types of cruelty.

This is from an E-mail I received from the Humane Society and thought it appropriate to share with this group:
Today is National Call-In Day for Downed Farm Animals! Our
recent undercover investigation of the cruel treatment of cows
at a California slaughter plant has sparked renewed attention to
the downer issue, with several Congressional hearings and bills
introduced. Now it's essential that we keep Congress focused on
the issue and ensure they take action.

I was so glad to see the shorts again this year. It makes the ceremony so much more interesting when I know everything I can about all the nominees. Interesting fact about all the animated selections this year- there’s not a single word of dialogue amongst them.

Every day in America thousands of animals suffer from cruelty and neglect, and they’re crying out for help.
Thanks to committed friends like you and the ASPCA Guardians, thousands were rescued last year, and thousands more can be rescued this year.
The ASPCA Guardians are a group of dedicated friends who make monthly gifts that provide a consistent, reliable income stream, allowing us to focus more resources on our lifesaving programs, and less on raising the necessary funds.

Right now a popular question in animal sheltering is ‘Are they a No Kill Shelter?’ Although a common question, many people don’t really understand what’s behind it. While the euthanasia rate in the US has dropped dramatically – from around 350,000,000 a year to 3,000,000 a year – there are factors into how those numbers get reported and why these animals are being euthanized. The bigger question is not if a shelter is No Kill, but if the shelter is Public or Private.

Now do not get me wrong I love steak, but if it was not for my religion I would so b e a vegan. However, it is against my faith to be a vegan. So, unfortunately, I have to eat meat and every time I feel bad, but I know in my heart that animal did not die in vain and that it was killed to feed the world.

Every impending parent wants to set up a cozy nest that will be ready to welcome their newborn once he or she arrives. While the fabulous lair caters to the lil bundle of joy, the mama and papa are usually responsible for the nursery design. Whether you plan to raise your wee one with fancy fabrics or a low-key look, we've got options.
