And you thought 2000 was bad.

The Statement
Sen. Barack Obama, discussing his connections to Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, at the Oct. 15 debate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, said "the only involvement I've had with ACORN" was representing them in a voter registration case in Illinois.

My Letter to the Editorial Page Editor of the L.A. Times Regarding That Fact-Challenged Pro-ACORN Op-Ed Written by the ACORN Consultant
A recent op-ed in your paper defending ACORN makes at least two factual misstatements: 1) that ACORN staff offered to help shield an underage prostitution ring at only two offices, and 2) that no voter fraudulently registered to vote by ACORN had ever actually cast a ballot. Furthermore, your paper failed to disclose that the author of the op-ed, Peter Dreier, has been a (presumably paid) consultant for ACORN in the past .

Jerry Brown: Acorn, Suspicion and the Rule of Law
by Thomas Del Beccaro
According to the legendary Greek Historian Plutarch, when asked why he divorced his wife, Caesar stated that: “All women shall be as Caesar would have his wife, not only free from sin, but from suspicion.” At the time, Caesar’s wife, Pompeia, was loosely associated with the commission of a sacrilege by someone else. As recent events have confirmed, Attorney General Jerry Brown is hardly burdened by suspicions – let alone high ethical standards.

As most everyone in the political world now knows, ACORN is under investigation in many states, and by the federal government, for a host of crimes.

The Media’s Complicity: Analysis of ACORN Coverage
by Billy Hallowell
The mainstream media were complicit in their coverage of the ACORN scandal. Their behavior was and continues to be an insult to democracy and journalistic responsibility as the Fourth Estate has ignored facts, engaged in one-sided sourcing, and avoided basic and inherently important journalistic questioning.

ACORN: A Cautionary Tale
When is thievery not a crime but a personal tragedy? When is lying for personal gain or political expedience a mere error in judgment? The answer is obvious to any partisan.
