Approval of U.S. Congress Falls to 21%, Driven by Democrats
Lowest rating for Congress since January

PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans' approval of the job Congress is doing is at 21% this month, down significantly from last month's 31% and from the recent high of 39% in March.

"The current drop in overall job approval to 21% particularly reflects a substantial drop in approval among Democrats, whose 36% rating this month is 18 points lower than last month's 54%, and the lowest since January of this year."

Pete Wentz has radio DJ and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest to thank for helping to make his recent honeymoon a paparazzi-free one.
The Fall Out Boy star and his pregnant bride took off to Turks and Caicos, but called in to Seacrest’s Los Angeles breakfast show in a bid to fool the media.
Wentz insisted he and his wife had decided not to spend money on an expensive vacation, and instead they were honeymooning in the basement of their California home, surrounded by inflatable palm trees.

The Gray Lady's Iseman Problem

The other shoe has dropped in the New York Times saga involving the newspaper's articles alleging Senator John McCain was carrying on an affair with a Washington, D.C. lobbyist. The alleged other woman, Vicki Iseman, filed a $27 million defamation lawsuit against the Times last month.

During his acceptance speech at Invesco Field in August, Barack Obama earned big applause for a line that compared Democratic and Republican economic policies. "We measure progress," he told the partisan crowd, "in the twenty-three million new jobs that were created when Bill Clinton was president -- when the average American family saw its income go up $7,500, instead of go down $2,000, like it has under George Bush."
As rhetoric, it was effective.
