Track and field star Lolo Jones isn't an Olympic virgin, considering she competed in the 2008 games, but she is a virgin in the traditional sense. You might think that an almost-30-year-old virgin would not advertise the fact that she's never had sex, but Olympian Lori "Lolo" Jones isn't shy about her virginity. Later-in-life virgins have a new celebrity role model in 29-year-old Lolo, as she's been opening up in interviews and on Twitter about online dating difficulties and keeping her V-card until marriage. On HBO's Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel, the hurdle jumper said:

"This journey has been hard. It's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. Harder than training for the Olympics. Harder than studying for college has been staying a virgin before marriage. I've been tempted. I've had guys tell me . . . 'Hey, you know, if you have sex, it'll help you run faster.' If you marry me, then yeah."

Keeping her virginity hasn't been the only hurdle Lolo has had to overcome. She grew up bouncing from school to school with a single mom who had to work multiple jobs to support her family, even living in a church basement at one point. After splitting from her family to pursue her track-and-field dreams, Lolo went on to excel in school and to become the accomplished Olympian she is today. Now, Lolo gives back to those in need with her charitable activities and involvement in Christian ministries. She definitely proves that you don't have to be having sex to be a strong, sexy woman to watch.

Olympic Athletes No Longer Required to Play in Their Bikinis

Olympic volleyball players jump high above the net or throw themselves into the sand all while wearing nothing more than sporty bathing suits. Well the women do at least, while their male counterparts play in shorts and tank tops. And now, thanks to a new rule served up by the International Volleyball Federation, women beach volleyball players will be able to trade their bathing suit bottoms for shorts and sports bras for shirts at this year's Olympics in London.

Cultural sensitivity, rather than athletic logistics, motivated the shift. The International Volleyball Federation explained that not all countries or cultures are comfortable with the amount of long-and-lean skin on display during the beach volleyball matches. A spokesman said, "Many of these countries have religious and cultural requirements, so the uniform needed to be more flexible," although the countries wanting the change were not specified. Beach volleyball has only been an Olympic sport since 1996, and the new rule is meant to encourage more countries to compete.

It's pretty crazy the sport previously mandated that the women wear such a revealing uniform, since more coverage obviously doesn't have an impact on how the men play. Could it be that the idea of women bending, stretching, and jumping in bathing suits is considered a draw for viewership? Either way, it's expected that most players will wear the typical sports bra/bikini bottom ensemble at this year's Olympics.

There will be no nagging to go shopping when your team has the ball with 3.3 seconds left. She'll be watching the game, too. And in fact, if you say something to break her concentration, you will be promptly shushed.
Two heads are better than one. You two can pool your vast knowledge of college basketball to make bracket predictions and destroy your colleagues. The satisfaction of knowing you were oh-so spot-on is fabulous, but a cash prize doesn't hurt either . . .
She'll let you vent. Cannot believe the coach of your favorite team burned through three timeouts in the first half, running out by the end of the game? Need to yell about how the best player choked, missing four free-throws in crunch time? She'll let you share your concerns. Just let her vent, too, OK? She'll be just as peeved.

According to a recent interview with ESPN’s Bill Simmons, Barack Obama has some experience in running the show for one of his daughter’s teams. "Reggie [Love, Obama's brother-in-law and Oregon State coach] and I would be sitting in the stands and we'd be passing her [the coach] notes and whispering. And finally she said, all right, why don't you guys – so we took them to a local gym on Sundays and started running some practices."

When the coach was unavailable, the president would even sit in and run the team during games. "You just want them to win so bad. And when they actually run a play and it works - you’re just ecstatic. And a couple of heartbreaking losses and you’re feeling terrible. But they're wonderful," the president said.
