What Does Your Mr. Right Look Like?

I caught up on Monday's Oprah last night and her guest, Steve Harvey, gave us all a glimpse into the male psyche as he answered a bunch of burning questions about love from an audience full of women. One in particular came to the show with a list of 43 requirements that her dream guy must posses, which included his height, his religious beliefs, his bank account, her need for him to be independent, to be family-oriented, honest, trustworthy, romantic, and clean - just to name a few. Steve sure did get a kick out of it, but this woman was serious - she wants to find Mr. Perfect! I think we all know that there is no such thing as perfection, but there is someone out there that's perfect for you and me. So ladies, if you were to come up with a list of your own, what would your Mr. Right look like?

Dear Poll: Would You Rather Give or Receive?

The older I get, the more enjoyment I take out of giving gifts verses receiving them. Sure, it's always fun to open presents of your own, but seeing the joy and excitement on your loved ones face when they see what you bought them is a feeling like no other. Especially when you've spent countless hours trying to find the perfect gift!

Dear Poll: Who Do You Turn to First?

Since life isn't always wine and roses, we all need someone to turn to when the going gets tough. Sixty percent of you still turn to your mom, like me, but I'm sure a lot of you also turn to your significant other when you need comfort, support, or even just a voice of reason. Of course, our moms are irreplaceable, but when you're in a relationship that special someone can easily become your new go-to person during a time of crisis. I know it's a tough question and it depends on the circumstance, but generally speaking, who do you turn to first: your mom or your significant other?

Dear Poll: Could You Work With Your Significant Other?

I'm a believer in a little distance making the heart grow fonder, which is why I don't think I'd ever be able to work with my significant other! Office stress is very different from home-life demands, and I think mixing business with pleasure could easily be a recipe for disaster. Of course we all take a little bit of work home with us each night, but when you work and sleep with the same person, it can be hard to draw the line, especially if one is in the superior role. On the other hand, if you work well with your partner, it can be a lot of fun to be around the one you love all day long! I know what works best for me, but what about you? Could you work with your significant other?

Where Do You Stand: Shopping With Your Significant Other

After reading the comments from Friday's poll on shopping, almost all of you admitted to loving it for one reason or another. And as fun as it can be to try on one thing after another, sometimes an honest second opinion from your special someone can come in handy. Though I've never been one to dress for a boyfriend, it sure does feel good when he looks at you with longing eyes because you're wearing something he loves. I shop best alone, but where do you stand on shopping with your significant other? Do you like his approval before swiping your card or do you get too stressed out when he's looking you up and down in a dressing room?

Some people feel that exercise has enhanced their sex life and that theory makes perfect sense, especially when your significant other comes home all hot, sweaty, and out of breath! I'm not an exercise buff so when I do find the time to go to the gym, I use it as my alone time with my thoughts and my gossip magazines. On the flip side, I know many couples that love going to the gym together - they push each other to work out harder and they use that time to be together. So how about you? Do you enjoy working out with your significant other or do you prefer to exercise alone?

Tips on Meeting Your Significant Other's Family

Meeting your significant other's family is an exciting time, but it can be really nerve wracking. It's perfectly normal to feel anxious and to hope everything will go smoothly, but just remember that his parents are probably a little nervous and giddy, too. Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind:

Don't rush into meeting his family if you're not ready. Even though Christmas is days away and he wants you to come home to meet everyone, only go if you feel it's right.
Have your boyfriend show you family pictures so when you meet everyone for the first time, you'll be familiar with their faces, and maybe even impress them by knowing their names. Try to learn a little bit about each family member, too, so you'll have a few topics to chat about.
Bring a little gift. It doesn't have to be expensive, just a small gesture to show you care like a bottle of wine or flowers. Trust me, it'll make a great first impression!
Compliments are always appreciated, so go ahead and tell his parents what a sweet gentleman their son is. If you're at their house, why not compliment the food and their decorating style as well.
Above all, be yourself. Your significant other obviously loves you for who you are, so there's no doubt that they'll love you, too.

Year-End Poll Results: Fights With the Significant Other

To wrap up our year-end coverage, I'm bringing you the results of one last poll, and it's a doozy: How many fights did you have with your significant other in 2007? When you spend a lot of time with someone, it's inevitable that you're going to fight from time to time, and I happen to think that fighting every once in a while can even make your relationship stronger.

Hilariously, the results on this poll were almost evenly split between two very different choices: "Well over 10 fights - we love the make up sex!" with 26 percent of votes, and "I wouldn't say we fight - we bicker" (24 percent). Twenty two percent said you had two to five fights in 2007. Hey, whatever works for you!
