I'm all for a little embellishing when it comes to chatting about what happens in the bedroom, but how do you feel about outright lying? Are there times when it's appropriate to fib about what guy you've done it with, how often you and your man have sex, or how good it is? Have you ever felt the need to lie to your friends in order to impress them? Of course lying about such a private matter won't really hurt anyone, but tell me, where do you stand when it comes to lying to your friends about your sex life?

Does Your Man Talk Sex With His Buddies?

I thought it was a given, that all guys love to talk about sex when they're hanging with their guy friends, but when I asked one of mine, he said that's not always the case. He has some friends that are always dishing about their sex lives - who they've banged (I know, that's so gross) and what not, but he also said that some of his friends just don't talk about it at all.

So what about your man? Do you think he ends up talking about sex when he's out with the boys? If so, what details do you think he divulges?

Do You Talk About Sex With Your Parents Now?

When you were little, I'm sure you probably had that oh-so-embarrassing and uncomfortable sex talk with one or both of your parents. I remember feeling so squirmy and disgusted, and I actually didn't believe what my mom was telling me until I heard it again at school.

Now that I'm older, and obviously sexually active, every once in a while my mother tries to bring up something about sex, but I just can't bring myself to talk about it with her! Our opinions about sex and relationships are just so generationally different that talking about such intimate things is just too weird. Plus, it's really not fair to the guy I'm with to share those kinds of details, or gripe about my sexual frustrations when she views him as a possible future son-in-law. So what about you? Maybe your relationships are different. How do you feel about sex talk with your parents now that you're an adult?

I think it's important to find a good condom you both like and to make the whole experience of purchasing them, pausing to get it, putting it on, and using it a little more playful and sexy. Rank them. Be a little silly about it.

Let's be honest, too: sometimes a little extra lubrication makes the condom experience better for everyone, so one of you roll on the condom while the other one warms up the gel. During Sex, Are You a Talker?

I was once with a guy who was very verbal during sex. He wasn't gross or loud, but he definitely liked to talk while we were making love. It was actually a real turn on. He'd talk about what he was going to do to me, and he'd ask me to do things - in a sweet way of course, never dirty. He even tried to get me to talk, but I'm not much for chatting in between the sheets.

There are definitely times when talking during sex may be necessary, especially if you're with a new partner. You may need to explain what you like and what you want the other person to do (or not do). However, talking can sometimes be a distraction, and having sex with a real chatterbox may end up ruining the moment.

So what do you think about talking and sex? Do you talk, or are you quietly enjoying all the sensations? Do you like it when the person you're with talks, or do you think the experience is better when there are no words involved?

I don't think I've ever shared with you my admiration for Dr. Drew Pinsky, but I've got to say, he's one of my favorite television personalities - and let's be honest, he's pretty sexy too! While he is a physician first, he's made his expertise available to the public via Loveline, Celebrity Rehab, and now Sober House. His approach to helping people is the perfect combination of compassion and tough love, and I was lucky enough to sit down and talk with him about his new project, Sex . . . With Mom and Dad, where Dr. Drew helps families in need of guidance when it comes to the "taboo topic of sex."

Why is it so important to talk to kids about sex?

There are multiple reasons. One, it gives parents a chance to shape their behavior and to communicate their values. Number two is, it diminishes the secrecy in a family system, which is always a bad thing. And ultimately, my hope is it'll give parents a chance to help kids examine how deeply embedded sexuality is in their emotional lives, and I think most parents are kind of sensitive to that.

Is it harder for you to talk to the kids or their parents about sex?

It's so different, it's pretty equal, they each have their own challenges. Sometimes it's the parents, when they're so rigid and resistant - I've got to say - sometimes it's the parents. Because the kids usually want to have the conversation, it's just awkward; they don't know how to initiate it, and we really help them break the ice.

What is the best piece of advice you received as a kid about sex?

I didn't receive any guidance or direction when I was a kid, and it was a very confusing time. After I became a physician, it became something I was attuned to. When I had an opportunity to do a radio show, the way I crafted the radio show was, I wished there was a place like that for me to go as a kid. Just having someplace to go with this is what I've always wanted to create for kids.

This or That: Baby Talk or Dirty Talk?

While visiting a friend a state away, you end up meeting a really great man. You guys keep getting to know each other even once you’re back home, and things start to turn more serious than just a flirty friendship. He’s moving within an hour of you in three months so you decide to just let things happen naturally, but you're growing more and more attached. The problem is you start noticing a pattern that you just can’t get away from. Would it be worse if . . .

This: Every time you get on the phone with him, you’re confronted with an onslaught of the most over-the-top, sickly sweet baby talk you’ve ever heard? The only time you can get him to stop is you start getting into a little sexy chatter.

Or…

That: Every time you guys get past the pleasantries, he falls into a dirty talk tirade that just seems to gain momentum as you guys go along? It wouldn’t be so bad if he kept it to the phone-sex encounters, but instead it’s just constant.

Do You Talk About Your Sex Life With Your Parents?

Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez are having some amazing sex, according to US Weekly. (Perhaps that's why she's his good luck charm.) The sex is so great, that the actress's friend says Kate "gets graphic talking about his body, even to her parents." Kate doesn't exactly have a conventional parental relationship with parents like Goldie and Kurt, so I wouldn't be surprised if this were true. Still, I'm sure Kate's in the minority of people who feel comfortable sharing the details of their amazing sex lives with their parents. Then again, maybe a lot of women have gone to their moms (or dads) at some point in their lives to chat about contraception, their sexual health, or other romantic topics. What about you?
