Yesterday geek and I launched a new feature called Tech Dating 101 which is aimed at answering all your dating questions in relation to this new age of technology we're living in. Our first question tackled dating status on online profiles, and Hiding55 brought up a great point when people suggested to keep your status as "single" until you're married to avoid confusion. She said that she doesn't consider herself "single" when she's in a relationship, and I completely agree.

I'm Hurt Helen wrote in yesterday asking for advice and venting her frustration about the fact that her boyfriend hasn't changed his online profile from single to dating, and I've got to say, I'd be pretty bummed if I were in her shoes too.
Using online social networks is definitely the easiest way to update your friends and family about what's going on in your life, but broadcasting your relationship status to the world wide web is a pretty big deal. Being ready to take that step is a personal decision, so do tell, how long do you usually wait to change your profile when entering into a new relationship?

You have some serious feelings that are only continuing to grow for a man you’ve been on a few dates with. But every time things seem to heat up, he backs off. He's an amazing guy, and you really want things to work out, but you’re afraid he may not be feeling the same thing you are and it seems too early to bring up status issues.

As a relationship progresses, it’s likely that there will eventually come a time when you’re with your boyfriend more than you’re apart from him. And even though you might love spending time with your single friends, it’s sometimes easier to hang out with other couples — you get your girl time while simultaneously hanging with your boyfriend, who’s also totally entertained.
Though it’s important to spend time with all your friends regardless of their relationship status, tell me ladies, when you’re taken, do you prefer spending time with other couples?

I often hear woman complain that all their friends are either married or in relationships, insinuating that being single makes them inadequate. But ones relationship status is a funny thing because my married friends constantly tell me that they're living vicariously through me, yet so many single woman are envious of those who are settled down and off the market. Obviously this is all subject to opinion but just for fun, where do your friends fall in the relationship department?

I have definitely warded off an approaching jerk by mentioning a fictional boyfriend. But that’s about the only time I’ll blatantly lie about my relationship status. One of my friends always lies to her grandparents and tells them she’s dating when she’s not to avoid their constant pressure.

Dear Sugar,
I met this great guy a month ago and he is truly wonderful. We had our first kiss on Valentine's Day (yeah, I know, kind of cliche but I don't care!) and ever since we have been going out on dates. We hold hands, hug, kiss, hook up, but we haven't yet had sex.

Dear Sugar,
I have been dating this guy for about a month and I really like him. He's smart, cute, funny, attentive — the whole package. The only problem is that I'm not exactly sure where we stand.

Spring has sprung, and it's not only the time for budding flowers and April showers, it's the time of budding romances too! But with so much new technology out there, the art of dating has become more complicated than ever — we can totally feel Drew Barrymore's pain in He's Just Not That Into You when she laments about having to keep up with several different technologies just to get rejected.
So in the face of this uncharted territory, geeksugar and DearSugar are teaming up to bring you a series about love and the technologies that connect us called Tech Dating 101.

It's National Singles Week! Each year, the third week of September is carved out to recognize "singles and their contributions to society."
If you're single, you might think it's patronizing to have a week set aside to remind everyone that people of your same relationship status contribute to society.
