Where's the Worst Place You've Ever Had Sex?

When it comes to sex, I prefer getting busy in a bed. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for experimenting with sex in new places, but logistically speaking, it just doesn't work as well. Bathroom floors are too hard and cold, the shower is far better in theory, and crawling bugs and scratchy grass while frolicking in a field, quite frankly, are a huge turnoff.

Ladies, I'm wondering, of all the times you've ever gotten intimate, where's the worst place you've done the deed?

Look What's on the Preservation List of 11 Endangered Places

The National Trust for Historic Preservation just released a list of 11 endangered sites chosen from almost 70 nominees. The list's goal is to protect significant buildings and locations. Of the approximately 200 places listed by the organization in the past 20 years, only six have been lost. The head of the Trust says, "The 11 represent the different kinds of historic places in different parts of the country. It's a representative list." Take a peek at where they're trying to save.

California's park system (made the list because of $1.2 billion worth of deferred maintenance.)

Places to Meet Eligible Men

If you're not in a relationship, and you're looking to meet someone, I'm sure you've asked yourself "where are all the good guys?" It can feel really frustrating when you're on the dating scene and meeting a bunch of duds. Here's a list of places good men may be lurking:

At a bar - This may not be the most romantic way to meet a guy, but it's a great place to meet single men, who are also looking to meet single women. Drinking alcohol makes it easier for shy guys to approach you, and you can make dinner plans for another day if a guy sparks your interest.
At the gym - You can get a good look at a guy while he's working out (through the mirror without him knowing), and you'll know in advance that he cares about his health, which is a must.
At the grocery store - Hey you never know where cute guys will be! Keep your eyes open and you might find someone who has a knack for picking out avocados.

At church or temple - If religion is important to you, this is a great place to find a guy you know has the same morals and family values as you.
Coffee shops or cafes - If you're a quiet person, chances are quiet guys will be hanging out at coffee shops too, reading, writing or drinking a cup of Joe. You could make eye contact and spark up some great conversation with an intellectual guy.
Dinner parties - Meeting people through friends is a great, safe and easy way to meet eligible bachelors. There will be other people around so you won't feel nervous or on the spot, and it's quiet enough so you can really talk and get to know each other.
At work - You can get a good sense of what a guy is like if you work with him and see him everyday. You can have lunch together and have at least one thing in common to chat about.

Are Video Proposals Online Cowardly or Cute?

Last night Tumblr users signed on to see "Marissa Nystrom, will you marry me?" bannered across their dashboards, whether or not they followed proposer Justin Johnson's blog. The link goes to this genuinely thoughtful, romantic, and well-edited video, but I presume his girlfriend follows his blog. So the only reason I can see to link the video to the world is to consummate its place in the controversial genre of public marriage proposals.

Public proposals seem unabashedly confident at first, but only the most heartless, unafraid-to-make-a-scene askee would say no. Put it on video and not only is he not asking her in person, but he's putting pressure on her to say yes in front of the largest stage of all. And when it's online, you can't leave your audience behind.

A Generation of Male Commitmentphobes?

A recent Marie Claire trend piece takes on a certain species of man: the commitment-phobe. Lest you think this is but one unavoidable type of man, the writer suggests that there's a whole generation of 30-something men having early midlife crises:

These guys are part of a cause-less generation. They didn't grow up burning their draft cards or fighting the Nazis. They weren't part of the Civil Rights Movement, the Women's Movement, or any other movement. They were spoiled as kids and now they want to spoil themselves as adults. The old cliché was that a man would wake up one morning and realize that he wanted his youth back. The new version is that he never reached adulthood in the first place.

This type tends to be drawn to Type-A women who can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan, and never let him forget he's a man . . . but the writer wonders if part of what the male commitmentphobe is thinking is that this type of woman doesn't need him at all. (Hmmm. So it's her fault?)

I don't think many would argue for a return to old-school gender roles and the suffocation that went with them, but do you think there's a whole generation of young-ish men who don't know how to commit?

Women Buy the Underpants in the Relationships

When it comes to a man's underwear, not only do women have a strong preference, they also have a lot of influence. New research shows that men purchase their own underwear for only 17 years of their entire lives. During the other years, it's either their mothers or significant others who do the buying.

If men have no one to do their shopping, they usually wait to buy new skivvies until they're starting a new relationship. So it might help to hint to your new guy whether you prefer boxers, briefs, or boxer briefs (in fact 54 percent of TrèsSugar readers prefer boxer briefs). And if you're looking for a place to meet an available man, you might want to hang out around an underwear department - according to the research you can predict whether a man is looking for a partner by the number of underpants he buys. (I may take their advice - if those guys look like David Beckham!)

Part of the challenge in defining “multiple orgasms” is that different people use the term to mean different things. For some women, it means more than one orgasm during a single sex session, whether they’re 5 minutes or 30 minutes (or more) apart. For other women, it means one after another, without much time between them.

You’re right that many women are extra sensitive after an orgasm, but not everyone. In fact, some women find that they can just keep going, especially if they change what they’re doing. For example, someone might find that she can have an orgasm from clitoral stimulation and then switch to penetration for a second one. Or maybe she might have one orgasm from oral sex, take a break for a bit with something else to keep the passion up, and then go back to oral sex for a second orgasm. And there are women out there who don’t need a break after one orgasm before they start building towards a second one.

Not all women can become multi-orgasmic, but many women can. Some women find that their ability to be multi-orgasmic can change over time, too. So if it doesn’t happen for you now, don’t stress about it. You may find that in a few years, something changes and suddenly, it falls into place.

One really great place to look for more info on how to do it is Mantak Chia’s book The Multi-Orgasmic Woman. He approaches sex from the Taoist tradition, which works with sexuality as a form of energy that we can learn to channel, harness, and expand. If you’re familiar with energetic practices such as yoga, this perspective might be familiar. He has a book for men and one for male/female couples, too.

Another place you could look for information about this is Tantra. While most people only know about Tantra as a laundry list of sex positions from the Kama Sutra, there’s actually a lot more to it than that. Tantra is a set of practices that teach you to work with your sexual energy and it can help you expand your ability to experience pleasure, deepen intimacy, and have multiple orgasms. There are some good books like Urban Tantra and Tantric Sex for Women, as well as some DVDs.

In my experience, the best way to learn about Tantra is through experiential workshops because these are techniques that are much easier to understand when someone is demonstrating them. Most Tantra classes are fully-clothed and many are designed for people to come solo, while others are for couples. You can find out more about Tantra or look for workshop teachers on www.tantra.com.

One thing that I do want to be clear on: not everyone can become multi-orgasmic. If it doesn’t happen for you, there’s nothing wrong with you. I’ve seen a lot of people become very goal-oriented about it and they often end up sabotaging themselves because they’re not actually enjoying the sex that they’re having. So I encourage you to try it out and see what works for you, but don’t get so caught up in it that you forget to have fun. Otherwise, what’s the point?

I was reading an interview recently featuring George Clooney, the infamous practical joker. According to the interviewer, he had some envelopes on his desk that read "The porn you ordered." I couldn't find those exactly, but these envelopes come close. I mean, can you imagine coming home with a friend and receiving a letter from "The Compulsive Masturbation Assistance Center"? Ha!
