I love a guy with a sense of humor, and it turns out I'm not the only one that falls for the jokester. A recent study conducted by psychologist Kristofor McCarty found that funny guys get the girls because humor makes men seem "more intelligent, trustworthy - and a better bet for a relationship." Of course hilarity makes everything else more fun, but tell me, is a funny guy a must for you, too?

When I asked if your significant other shows his emotion well, the results were pretty evenly split, although very extreme - the men were either completely closed off or very in touch with their feelings. Hearing stories of guys who are not ashamed to cry got me thinking about the roles we play in our relationships. Sometimes, we take on the stereotypical traits our gender dictates, but that's not always the case. So tell me, are you more of the girl or the guy in your relationship?

Study Suggests Opposites Don't Attract

Opposites attract, right? Paula Abdul said so, but as it turns out, she may need to rewrite that song! A new study shows that when it comes to finding a long-term partner, people look for others who share similar characteristics.

In the study, 760 people were asked if they preferred someone who complemented them or someone who resembled them, and you guessed it - they wanted to be with someone who was more like them. These findings supported a previous study that showed sharing a similar personality was more important than sharing similar attitudes about religion. So although you may be attracted to someone who's different, it often times doesn't develop into a serious relationship. Have you found this to be true?

Dear Poll: Are You Embarrassed About Being in Therapy?

I'm a huge advocate of therapy. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd suggest it for everyone. Having an unbiased mediator to vent your frustrations to really helps relieve some of the burden we all shoulder, yet some people shy away from talking about it. Yes, therapy automatically makes people think you're troubled or depressed, but happy people see therapists too; and there's nothing wrong with talking to someone about your feelings!

So ladies, if you are currently, or have ever been in therapy, tell me, were you embarrassed about it?

What Does Your Mr. Right Look Like?

I caught up on Monday's Oprah last night and her guest, Steve Harvey, gave us all a glimpse into the male psyche as he answered a bunch of burning questions about love from an audience full of women. One in particular came to the show with a list of 43 requirements that her dream guy must posses, which included his height, his religious beliefs, his bank account, her need for him to be independent, to be family-oriented, honest, trustworthy, romantic, and clean - just to name a few. Steve sure did get a kick out of it, but this woman was serious - she wants to find Mr. Perfect! I think we all know that there is no such thing as perfection, but there is someone out there that's perfect for you and me. So ladies, if you were to come up with a list of your own, what would your Mr. Right look like?

Sunday Confessional - I Canceled on My Blind Date

A co-worker of mine set me up on a blind date. I'm fresh out of a relationship so she was trying to do me a favor, but truth be told, she doesn't know me that well so I was a little apprehensive about the kind of guy she'd pair me with.

Once I got his name, I immediately searched for him on Facebook and lo and behold, I found him. He was an OK looking guy, but he was definitely not my type, and after reading through his profile, I knew that sitting across the dinner table from him would have just been a waste of time.

I didn't have the heart to tell my co-worker that I snooped on him and didn't like what I saw, so I called in sick to work the day of our date and gave him the same excuse. He's written me emails asking to reschedule, but I've ignored each and every one. I know I judged a book by its cover, but can I be forgiven for avoiding this guy simply based on his Facebook page?

I'm your average 22-year-old rocker guy, but when it comes to dating, I seem to be lacking something. I meet my fair share of women and have no problems talking with them casually, but I can't seem to close the deal, so to speak. I've been told by women in the past that I'm too "dangerous" not the "marrying type." I don't think I'm intimidating, so is it my tattoos that are making me unapproachable? I have a steady job, I have a great relationship with my family, and I consider myself to be pretty well-rounded, so what gives? - Totally Baffled Billy

It sounds to me like you simply haven't met the right woman yet. Sure, tattoos aren't for everyone, but some women find them incredibly sexy! If that's what you really think is giving off the wrong impression, you could just be dating people that are too closed-minded for you. While many women are attracted to safe, conservative men, that type isn't for everyone - I happen to think a little verve is a huge turn-on!

You sound like a decent guy so try not to get too discouraged. Keep putting yourself out there, keep being yourself, and in due time, you'll meet a match that's perfect for you. Good luck!

If you're a salt lover, you're in luck - New research shows that salt is good for you after all! Researchers at the University of Iowa found that salt may act as a natural antidepressant. They tested this theory on lab rats and found that those with a salt deficiency shied away from activities they usually enjoyed - a sign of depression they say. On the flip side though, salt can lead to high blood pressure which is linked to heart attach and stroke so salt in moderation is key.

This news definitely explains why I enjoy salty foods so much, but what about you? Do you have a sweet tooth or do you crave savory snacks like me?

I don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of tough love. Being direct reduces the chance of misunderstandings, and when trying to get a point across, why waste time beating around the bush? Some people, however, don't do well with that kind of forthrightness. Do you respond well to tough love?

You Asked: I'm Dating a Smoker

Dear Sugar,

I started dating this guy a few months ago, and everything has been going great. He's funny, sweet, and just an all-around good guy - I think I may even be falling in love with him! The only problem I see so far is that he smokes. I was always the girl who said, "I could never date a smoker," but after getting to know him, I can't just stop these feelings I have for him. I'd rather him not smoke, of course, and I'm doing my best to help him quit, but it's my family and friends who seem to have a real problem with this.

My uncle died of lung cancer five years ago, so everybody around me is sickened by the thought of me being with a guy that smokes, and my best friend even told me that she has lost respect for me! I feel so guilty, but I really do like this guy! He wants to quit, but at the same time, I know it won't happen overnight. I don't want to lose the relationships I have with the people I love, but I just can't help but think that they are being unreasonable. Where do I go from here? - Stuck in the Middle Melinda

I'm so excited for you that you've found a guy you really like, but I'm also sorry to hear that your loved ones are not accepting him. Yes, being a smoker is not ideal, but if he wants to quit, I think it's only fair that everyone gives him the benefit of the doubt - he didn't know your uncle passed away from lung cancer!

While I'm sure this feels like a very complicated situation, it's actually really simple. If you have honest feelings for this guy, and it sounds like you do, simply tell your friends and family that this is your relationship, not theirs, and that you'd really appreciate them getting to know him for who he is instead of writing him off because he's a smoker.

You're right, things won't change overnight, but hopefully in time, everything will work itself out. Good luck!
