One of my favorite ways to get to know someone is to invite them over for a movie night. It's so much better than going to the theater because you can snuggle up together on the couch, pause it whenever you want to chat, and you'll have a little privacy in case you start to get along very well (if you know what I mean)! I'm a huge fan of romantic comedies because they always make me feel good at the end and allow me to see if the guy I'm with has a sensitive side, too. If you haven't checked out the hot pictures from the LA premiere of Stop-Loss you really must. The serious man candy attached to this film has my interest piqued big time! Of course, I enjoy an Oscar-worthy film as much as the next movie buff, but I also like a movie just for the sheer entertainment of it. There's nothing quite as entertaining as perfect biceps and chiseled chins, and this one is supposedly heart wrenching, too! Let's find out if you agree. Which Type of Movie Is Best on a First Date?

I absolutely love going to the movies and I think it's a great idea for a first date. It doesn't require a ton of money, and you can tell a lot about someone's personality by his or her reactions in the theater. For instance, if you see a love story and your date sheds a tear, then you know he's the sensitive type. In a movie, you don't have to worry about awkward silences or searching for conversation topics like you sometimes have to on a standard dinner date. And if things are going well, you can always eat after the movie - you'll be guaranteed something to talk about then!

There are a few different things you could try to make intercourse better. The first thing is to have lots of buildup for both of you. The more excited he is, the harder his erection will be. That can maximize the sensations for you since the vagina tends to be most sensitive near the opening. And the closer you are to orgasm before intercourse, the easier it might be to have an orgasm once he’s inside you.

Some positions may work better for you than others. If you try rear entry (aka doggie style) and arch your back, you’ll probably be able to get deeper penetration. Some women report that crossing their legs (after he’s inside) in this position makes things snugger, which creates more intense sensations for both people. If you prefer face to face contact, prop your hips up on a pillow or the amazing Wedge. Bending your legs so your knees are against your chest also maximizes penetration. Since both the vagina and the penis vary in dimensions, you’ll have to experiment a bit to find the ones that feel best to you. If you’re having trouble getting enough stimulation for your pleasure, you can always make sure that you get your needs taken care of first or keep the fun going after his orgasm. If you approach the conversation from a desire to make sure that you’re both having fun, it’ll go a lot better. And whatever you do, don’t make fun of him or shame him for his body. Lots of men are hyper-sensitive about penis size and that’s not going to be a constructive thing to do.

Lastly, for the record, most penises are about five-six inches (12.7-15.24 cm) long and about five inches (12.7 cm) around. Lots of people have distorted expectations about penis size, especially if they watch porn. But a lot of people in porn movies (both male and female) are short - it makes penises look larger, just as they used to make cowboy movie sets small to make the actors look bigger. That sort of forced perspective is a trick of the camera, and unfortunately, it can lead to unrealistic expectations.

Why Are There No Female Movie Critics on National Television?

I used to love watching Siskel and Ebert's movie reviews on television. They had such a great rapport, both had different tastes, and there was just something warm and cozy about the set, Gene Siskel's professorial air (and elbow-patched jackets), and Roger Ebert's roly-poly charm.

I was very sad when Siskel died in 1999, and although Ebert remained and teamed up with movie critic Richard Roeper, I stopped watching as regularly. At the Movies degenerated (in my opinion and many others') when Ebert's thyroid cancer treatment required that he suspend his appearances. His replacements? The experience-challenged Ben Lyons (son of movie and theater critic Jeffrey Lyons) and Ben Mankiewicz. What's the remedy for this seeming movie critic boys' club? read more.

Ben Mankiewicz I didn't mind as much - at least his curmudgeonly air was backed up with some decent reviewing. But Ben Lyons's facile reviews (Gawker has some great examples here) and the fact that he got the job - let's be honest - because of his father, turned the At the Movies franchise into a joke.

So it was with a sigh of relief that I read that Lyons and Mankiewicz were sacked and will be replaced (sigh) with two other male movie critics.

As a movie buff, I make it a point to read reviews a lot, and there are no dearth of intelligent, hip, and witty female critics. It's amazing to me that, given Hollywood's infamously sexist treatment of women (the paucity of female directors, putting older actresses out to pasture while grizzled actors continue to get roles with young actresses, the near-requirement that actresses bare their breasts or play prostitutes), you'd think there would be some sensitivity around hiring some female critics on television.

At the Movies could have updated its tired franchise by providing some female voices into the mix. It's not just that female critics miss out on a chance to get more exposure (and perhaps a bigger salary), we viewers miss out on different female perspectives. Although there's not a monolithic female perspective, there needs to be some kind of female perspective!

B. Ruby Rich has proven to be a compelling, engaging, and television-friendly critic, having substituted for Ebert when he was sick. New York Times movie critic Manohla Dargis is acerbic and astute, and any number of other female critics (Stephanie Zacharek, Dana Stevens, or Carina Chocano) could have replaced the boys' club that appears to dominate television movie criticism.

A whole other beard genre's been growing since the middle of the 20th century - the gay cover-up beard, which is slang for a person of the opposite sex used as a cover for a gay partner.
