Women spend a lot of time and money taking care of their hair down there. We trim, shave, endure the agony of Brazilian bikini waxes, do electrolysis, even undergo laser hair removal.

It takes a lot of dedication to have a well maintained bikini area, so do you think guys should do the same? Do tell me, where do you stand on guys who manscape?

How Manscaped Do You Like Your Men?

A fascinating New York Times article charts the history of manscaping - the practice by men of removing hair from their chests, back, armpits or groin area. It used to be the province of male models, athletes, and homosexuals. No longer. If you look at the mass marketing of body razors (watch the commercial below for Braun bodycruZer razor "with a special attachment for sensitive areas"), you can see that every Tom, Dick and Hairy is supposed to manscape whether or not he's an athletic, gay, male model.

One survey of 364 male students at the University of South Florida on the subject of "male body depilation" found that more than 80 percent of them depilated. (I don't think I've ever used that as a verb.) The most interesting factoid? The graduate student who is conducting the survey said that there was no statistically significant difference between the number of gay men versus straight men who manscaped. How times have changed! I'm telling you, men are the new women.

Do, Dump or Marry? Adrian Grenier

The boys of Entourage are back in a little over a week, so of course, my thoughts stray to my favorite scruffy guy - Adrian "to hell with manscaping" Grenier.

A few years back, I was treated to an Adrian sighting while they were shooting a scene at hipster hotel The Roosevelt in Hollywood. Needless to say, the ladies were majorly swooning over him. And why not? I love Adrian's tousled hair, beautiful eyes, and boyish gait. He's probably not everyone's cup of tea, though. What are your thoughts - do, dump or marry?

InTouch magazine recently paid a visit to rocker and eyebrow waxing aficionado Dave Navarro to check out his home style (because we know his makeup, manscaping, and fashions are so spot on!). In between praising him for matching "his nail polish to the red overhead light fixture" and explaining why Dave needs to feel at home (he's on the road a lot), Doug Wilson, InTouch's interior design commenter, seems to have ignored something quite conspicuous hanging on his wall: a clown painting by the infamous child serial killer John Wayne Gacy. Dave Navarro, you see, collects "artwork" by the now-dead "Killer Clown" who entertained, and then killed, 33 boys and young men while wearing makeup and a clown suit. (Yeah. If you want to avoid the whole issue? There's this thing called PhotoShop. It is your friend.)

Maybe I'm being as reactionary as men who want their women au naturale, but I find men who manscape a bit creepy. I always do a double-take when I see guys with waxed brows, like something's off. (Well something is off.) I guess you wouldn't know about a waxed body until you go swimming or do the horizontal mambo with them. Provided you agree with me, what's tackier?
