When it comes to society’s standards of beauty, there are many common notions: beauty is in the eye of the beholder or beauty is only skin deep, to name a few. But there are sometimes negative stigmas attached to really pretty women - that they get whatever they want and they don't need to work as hard as average looking women do. I try not to think that way, but you know what, sometimes I find myself believing it too. So ladies, do tell, do you think it’s true that good looking women - by society's standards - have it easier?

It seems like there are at least a few of you out there who feel caught between your family and your boyfriend. There's nothing more difficult than trying to negotiate the tricky terrain between the people that you love who dislike one another. Often times it seems impossible to satisfy both sides of the equation, leaving you feeling like you have to choose between the two. Truth be told, this is always going to be a hard situation to deal with, but there are ways to ease some of your stress and anxiety. To get some tips, read more.

For better or worse, your parents will always be your family. Thus, trying to keep your boyfriend separate from them will likely cause just as much angst as letting any awkward encounters take place. So I say, embrace the uncomfortable. Let them be around each other. Often just time and familiarity can truly change opinions.
Give your parents the benefit of the doubt; listen to what their complaints are without getting defensive. Once they've stated their case, give yours. Calmly enlighten them in the areas that they might be completely wrong, but acknowledge their concerns.
Go ahead and put it all out there. Explain how the situation is hurting you. Let them know that you will always want to make them happy, but you have no intention of breaking up with your boyfriend. See if they won't give him another try. But make sure your boyfriend is willing to start over, too.
As for your boyfriend, is it possible he's giving off the wrong impression? See if there aren't some things you both can do to reveal a more accurate portrayal of him and your relationship to your parents. Come up with ways he can connect more personally with your parents through hobbies or common interests.

Group Therapy: Can't Handle the Questions

Last night I went to one of my best girlfriend's house for dinner. Usually we just hang out but this time her fiance was there. I have nothing against him, and we get along well, but every time I see him I can't handle his 5,000 questions about my personal life and the decisions I make. I'm single and fabulous(!), but for some reason he fails to realize this and asks me things like, "How come you are still single?," "Maybe you are looking for the wrong guy?," "Are you really happy?," "How come you see a therapist?". It got to the point where I wasn't feeling comfortable and wanted to leave. I didn't want things to be awkward so I confronted my friend, and she said he was just trying to get to know me better. I left feeling judged and like I don't want to hang out with him again, ever. What should I do? Tell my friend how I feel? Confront him? Help!

Did you all watch Victoria Beckham's show on Monday night, Victoria Beckham: Coming to America? I was glued to the TV in utter amazement -- she isn't the stuck up, robotic, diva that I thought she was! Shocking I know if you didn't watch! So that got me thinking, the only reason why I put Posh in that category in the first place was because I was judging her book by its cover if you will.

I hear people say over and over again that celebrities deserve the constant scrutiny because they put themselves out there, and while I agree to an extent, sometimes we just don't know these celebrities real character traits. So ladies, do you judge Hollywood types by the person the paparazzi make them out to be?

Earthquake in LA Yesterday Interrupts Judge Judy

The gods were smiling down on someone on the Judge Judy set yesterday in LA. There was a mild earthquake, and you can see in the clip here that the camera shakes and the plaintiff and defendant look pretty nervous. I don't know who was spared, but could being injured or dying from an earthquake be any worse than being verbally bitch slapped by Judge Don't Pee on My Leg and Tell Me It's Raining! Judy? I think not. Lucky bastards!
