Failure is the new success, at least on the Internet. Even if you don't watch this whole thing all the way through, definitely watch until you get to my favorite part. Product of the Day: Fail Stickers

The folks who created these great fail stickers suggest one possible use: If you "stumble across an epic fail," instead of just taking a picture of it and putting it on line, just slap fail sticker on it! I don't know how much I trust these guys, though. They put a fail sticker on a dude with an amazing mustache. Fail.

A Tax on Cosmetic Surgery - Love It or Leave It?

The Senate's proposed healthcare bill includes a novel approach to enhancing funding for reform: a five percent tax increase on cosmetic surgery. Procedures like tummy tucks, face lifts, hair plugs, collagen injections, Botox, or any other non-required procedure would get hit with the increase. The tax could raise as much as $6 billion.

If you think taxing superficial wealthy people to pay for the necessary health care of the poor sounds like a perfect idea, some people, namely cosmetic surgeons, say you got it all wrong. Statistics show that one-third of people who get plastic surgery make under $30,000 and 86 percent make less than $90,000. In addition, 85 percent of procedures are paid for by credit. So the tax would hit lower income people the hardest. Then again, maybe it makes sense to make cosmetic surgery even more out of reach in order to help fund basic healthcare needs. Still, more damaging to the cosmetic tax plan is the fact that a similar tax has so far failed in New Jersey, where it costs $3 trying to figure out what counts as "cosmetic" for every dollar raised from the tax.

What Should Be the Word of the Decade?

Yesterday we revealed that the New Oxford American Dictionary chose "unfriend" as the word of the year. Many of you thought it should be something like "sexting," or "de-friend" at least.

Since we're headed toward a new decade, this story got me thinking about which lexicon newcomer would make a good word of the decade. BellaSugar suggested a Bushism like "misunderestimated," or perhaps "text" or "FAIL." Based on the high number of depressing things that happened this decade, I'd say "FAIL" makes an excellent candidate.

You all seem to have a good read on which words have "lex-appeal," so tell me what you would choose as the word of the decade.
