But unfortunately, not all of us have a natural knack for knowing where we are or getting where we’re going - some people have a propensity to always get lost, even with directions! There’s nothing like being stuck in the car for an hour circling the same streets to ruin a person’s mood. So ladies, does this sound like you? Are you easily lost?

Relationship Protocol: Sharing the Road

Relationships are all about sharing, from feelings to responsibilities. But some things are not as easily shared as others, like driving. I’ve found that many individuals in relationships consider themselves a better driver than their counterpart so much so that they either demand to be the driver or won’t allow their significant other to drive their car. And all the way on the other end of the spectrum, there are the couples who argue over who should have to drive because neither wants to. Sure, it’s just driving, but I think it’s also an issue of control. So how do you and your boyfriend divvy up the driving? And who’s the better driver?

Though I try to walk or use public transportation as much as possible, San Francisco is not New York, and life demands that I hop in the car and face the open road every now and again. The problem is, driving in traffic or dealing with aggressive drivers really gets my blood boiling, and before I know it I’m mumbling obscenities under my breath. While music can help calm my nerves, like many people out there, I do suffer from a mild case of road rage. Are you like me?

Dude Punks the DMV

Most novice drivers are a nervous mess before buckling in and taking the dreaded driving exam, but not this punk. He was busy installing hidden cameras into the dashboard. A new California cell-phone law will prohibit driving and mobile talking come July - so over-the-phone convos are technically still legal. This dude wanted to push the envelope and see if he could take his calls and pass the driving test, too. Five failed exams later . . .

Dumbass Of The Day

If you didn't see this person enter the vehicle at the beginning of the clip, then you'd think this was a kid with a learner's permit. Surely, any licensed driver could back a car out of a parking spot in no time flat. Not this dumbass. She takes just over two minutes to get out of the lot and manages to tap (or in some cases dent) a number of vehicles in the process. I'd hate to see this driver on the road! Maybe we already have.

How to Deal With Road Rage

I'm sure you've all been one of those pissed off people, angrily clenching the steering wheel, cursing at the traffic that's making you late for work. Stress from driving can cause your blood pressure to rise and your emotions to get the best of you behind the wheel. People with such road rage honk their horn incessantly, yell at other drivers, tailgate cars in front of them, and weave in and out of different lanes, which can cause accidents.

If any of this rings true for you, here are some ways to prevent road rage:

Carpool. Take a bus. Hop on the subway. You can get to work anyway you want, but who said you have to be the one behind the wheel? Now instead of getting annoyed during your commute, you can read a book, catch up on the news, write a letter, talk to other people, do a little work, or even snooze. Doesn't that sound relaxing? Plus, it's better for the environment!
If you have to drive, try to avoid certain times of day or places that get congested. I used to leave for work a little earlier, which almost cut my commute in half.
Make yourself a mix of calming songs to listen to in the car. You'd be surprised what relaxing music can do for your mood. Or listen to a book on tape. Getting lost in a good story can distract you from getting bothered by what's happening outside the car.
Be the bigger person. If someone cuts you off, doesn't use their turn signal, runs a red light, or rides up your behind, just let it go. You can't change what they did (even if you give them "the finger" with both hands), so just forget about it. Be proud that you are being a good and safe driver.
If you come across an aggressive driver, keep your distance, don't make eye contact, don't honk, and don't do anything to instigate them.

Most importantly, buckle up!

Do Tell: What is the Craziest thing you Have Ever Done in a Car

We all know that driving can be incredibly dangerous. According to AAA, it's the number one cause of death among teenagers yet 61% of teenagers that were recently surveyed admitted to participating in risky behavior behind the wheel. Driving distracted, talking on your cell phone, putting on your make up, eating, doctoring up your coffee, kissing your boyfriend, gossiping with friends, laughing, etc. are all things that jeopardize your safety and the safety of those with whom you share the open road. Even though we know it's wrong, I'm sure we've all done our fair share of wild things behind the wheel, so ladies, do tell, what's the craziest thing you have done in a car?

Creative Parking Takes A Turn For The Worst

We've seen parallel parking troubles before, but in that instance, after four whole minutes of trying and re-trying to park the car, the driver eventually gave up and drove away. Unfortunately, the person in the following video didn't have such good sense. To make matters worse, after settling into a less than parallel parking position, they also forgot to put the gear in park.
