My boyfriend and I celebrated Christmas together for the first time last December. Though we are both watching our spending, we decided to go all out. I got him an awesome new suitcase that he had his eye on, and he got me a beautiful bracelet from my favorite boutique.

Dear Sugar,
I organized a Secret Santa among a group of friends this year. On exchange day, everyone received something and it went off well, however, one participant received a gift that she clearly didn't like. She complained publicly about every aspect of the gift and her Secret Santa was quite upset by this.

My boyfriend and I spent our first Christmas together this year. I'm a big holiday person so I went all out, spending months racking my brain to think of the perfect gift for him: a ski jacket he'd had his eye on.
We celebrated on Christmas Eve, had a lovely home-cooked meal, and snuggled up by the fireplace — it was a perfect evening.

The older I get, the more enjoyment I take out of giving gifts verses receiving them. Sure, it's always fun to open presents of your own, but seeing the joy and excitement on your loved ones face when they see what you bought them is a feeling like no other. Especially when you've spent countless hours trying to find the perfect gift!

Christmas is only 20 days away so if you haven't started shopping yet, you better get to it this weekend because according to Glamour magazine's December issue, 38 percent of women spend 10 or more hours shopping for holiday gifts! That seems a bit excessive to me, but I guess it all depends on how many people you're shopping for. So ladies, whether you're scaling down your celebration this year or going all out, do tell, who are you buying gifts for this holiday?

It starts right after Thanksgiving. People hit the stores to start Christmas shopping, and the malls are packed with shoppers spending tons of money and searching for the perfect gifts.
Some people wouldn't dare show up at the family Christmas without a huge car filled with beautifully wrapped packages.

The older I get, the fewer Christmas presents I buy. One would think it would be the opposite, but I guess with age, gifts seem less and less important, except those big ones from your parents and significant others, of course! Since everyone is talking about Christmas shopping, I'm curious, who do you shop for?
