But what you think is just a romantic mini road trip ends up being more than you bargained for. Parking off a one-lane, seldom-used road, you guys to try something totally new. Would it be worse if . . .

This: You decide to give sex in the car a try only to be interrupted mid-session by a tap on the window from a police officer? Apparently he happened to be passing by and wanted to make sure there wasn’t any car trouble.

Or . . .

That: In an attempt to be romantic, your boyfriend lays out blankets for you under a tree, but when it starts pouring, it turns out his keys are locked in the car? Not only do your cell phones not work, but it’s a four-mile walk to the nearest house.

Welcome to DearSugar's newest feature, This or That, where I'll give you two scenarios to choose between. They won't be easy choices; sometimes you'll want both and sometimes you won't want either, but you have to choose: this or that?

You and your significant other are visiting his parents for a long weekend. On your last night, you guys go out on your own while his parents are out to dinner. When you get home the house is dark, and you're alone. Would it be worse to...

Take advantage of the moment by getting frisky without realizing you've left the bedroom door open until you hear his parents walking down the hall?

Or...

Head to his parents' room to grab a fresh towel for a hot shower, only to see his dad's naked backside and his mom topless, lunging for her robe?

Do Tell: Have You Ever Been Caught Naked?

I feel totally comfortable being naked. I walk around my apartment naked while I'm getting ready to go out, and I have no problem being nude in a changing room, but I would, however, have a problem if someone were to unexpectedly catch me in the buff. So ladies, do tell: Have you ever been caught in the nude by your boyfriend's dad, the mail man, or even your little brother?

Sunday Confessional: I Caught him in the Act and Didn't do Anything

My best friend has been dating a guy who none of her friends like for about three months now. He runs in our same circle and had a terrible reputation of being a total dog. Last summer he dated a mutual friend of all of ours and he ended up breaking her heart, so my best friend has been forewarned about him more than enough times.

Well, last weekend I was having dinner with my boyfriend and we ran into him leaving a bar with a random girl I had never seen before. I was in such shock that I didn't say anything, but my boyfriend said hi, they small talked for a bit, and then we left. On our way home, I couldn't stop talking about how disturbed I was that we just blatantly caught him on a date with another girl.

I asked my boyfriend what I was supposed to do and he said to keep my mouth shut, to stay out of it, that it was none of my business, so I didn't say anything. Well, now that almost a week has passed, I can't help but feel guilty that I wasn't honest with her. I would absolutely want to be told if I were in her shoes. Is keeping my mouth shut wrong after all?

Have you Been Caught in the Act?

After learning about what crime you would commit if you knew you wouldn't get caught, it got me thinking... Since no one is perfect, I am sure everyone has been caught with their pants down so to speak, once or twice leaving a regretful mark in your memory. Whether it was stealing a Bonne Bell lip smacker your mom wouldn't buy you when you were little or having your boyfriend catch you looking through his desk drawer, ladies do tell, what is the most embarrassing thing you have ever been caught doing?

Lock Your Doors! Nebraska Town Plagued by Butt Bandit!

Sometimes crime is terrible, sometimes it comes with a big greasy imprint of a bottom. Yup. I mean, I'm sure it's terribly violating to the victims but I can barely type I'm giggling so hard. Here goes: the town of Valentine, NE, isn't feeling so romantic lately - their most prolific vandal has been leaving imprints of his nether regions on windows all over town. Using Vaseline to ensure the imprint shows up nice and clear, store owners and school janitors have been mopping up the mess for more than a year.

The police chief says, "This is the weirdest case I've ever seen." But not ha-ha weird. He says, "It's not funny. We're worried about the next step." Reportedly, no one has seen the vandal in the act, though they're quite acquainted with his calling card. One victim said of being the butt of the crime, "We were completely grossed out. One day I walked into the office and an employee said, 'Oh, my God, we've been struck!'"

I can't fathom why they haven't caught the guy. I mean, it might not be of the finger-variety, but they have his prints, right?

New York City 911 Centers Can Receive Cell Pictures and Texts

I go out running alone a lot and watch too much Law & Order: SVU for my own good so I'm always thinking about how I'd be able to get to my cell phone to call 911 from the trunk of a speeding car. Crazy, but true. That's why this advancement from the New York City emergency line is a pretty useful piece of safety technology. The 911 line is now equipped to receive texts, cell phone pictures, and video as calls of distress.

While other cities are already able to accept texts (this I didn't know!) officials say they believe that New York is the first city with the image capabilities. Mayor Bloomberg had this to say about it: "This technology should put a scare into every would-be criminal because the chances of getting caught in the act is now better than ever." Not to mention the increased accuracy in providing descriptions - how often have 911 operators heard, "um, he's a guy with brown hair?" Now they'll be able to see him. By next year, callers' images will be made available to patrol cars and will be accepted as evidence.

The cost of the upgrade? A mere 18 months and $250,000. Since crime in New York is down 3 percent, it seems like a smart investment - and more security than either Stabler or Benson could provide.

Do Tell: Has Anyone Ever Walked in on You Masturbating?

I'm sure you all know by now that I'm in full support of masturbation. Not only do I think it's completely natural, but I also feel that it gives you a chance to find out what you like and what gets you excited. That being said, masturbation is definitely a private time, and not something you want the whole world to know you're doing. Since accidents do happen, I'm wondering, has anyone ever caught you in the act? If so, what did you do?

"Don't Ask" Hits Women Hardest, Ladies Shut Out of Service

"Don't Ask, Don't Tell," might bring to mind men fighting in foxholes - but the plan is actually rooting out more foxes of the opposite gender. The US Army and Air Force discharged an hugely uneven ratio of women to men in 2007 under the "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" policy, which prohibits gay military personnel from disclosing their sexual orientation.

The New York Times reports that even though women only make up 14 percent of Army personnel, 46 percent of those discharged under the policy in 2007 were female. Up in the air, women account for 20 percent of the Air Force and 49 percent of its discharges.

And the trend is growing - there's a noticeable increase from 2006, when about 35 percent of both the Army’s and the Air Force’s "asked and tolds" were women, according to stats pulled from Pentagon data by a policy advocacy organization. Women make up 15 percent of the armed forces, so to find they represent nearly 50 percent of Army and Air Force discharges under "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" is shocking,” said Aubrey Sarvis, the organization’s executive director. “Women in particular have been caught in the crosshairs of this counterproductive law.

Sarvis's organization, the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, didn't perform formal interviews and therefore couldn't offer any specific reasoning for the increase in women being discharged. According to the Times, Pentagon officials couldn't explain why the numbers for women spiked last year either and isn't pushing for any change in policy - the Pentagon holds that it's up to Congress to decide whether the law should be altered or repealed.

The don't-ask policy prohibits anyone who "demonstrate(s) a propensity or intent to engage in homosexual acts" from serving in the armed forces of the United States because it "would create an unacceptable risk to the high standards of morale, good order, and discipline, and unit cohesion that are the essence of military capability." While gay and lesbians in the military are prohibited from speaking about any homosexual relationships, interestingly the law states that one must engage in open homosexual acts to commit a punishable offense.

On the recent fifteenth anniversary of the policy's adoption Time put together an exposé noting that while the "move was initially hailed as progress for the rights of gays in the military, today many see it as a liability." Obama recently spoke out telling the gay publication the Advocate that he favors the repeal of the 1993 policy. What's behind this imbalance? Why are more women getting snagged and punished?
