Cliché alert: watching this is like watching a train wreck. You know it's going to happen, you don't want to watch, but you can't look away. Sigh.
Flashback: Pat Sajak's Last Daytime Appearance on Wheel of Fortune Was a Doozie
I'm not a big fan of the Wheel of Misfortune, I mean, the Wheel of Fortune, so I'm not entirely sure when this show moved to a nighttime slot. I will tell you one thing, though: Patty boy is getting a little too into kissing Vanna. You get the sense that in rehearsals it was all, "OK, so we'll get some yuks if you guys pretend to kiss," and then when it happened, Pat was all, "All these years of sexual tension, people who couldn't guess a phrase if their lives depended on it — dammit all to hell, I'm gonna mack on Vanna White and no one can stop me!"
C'mon, Lady, You've Gotta Be Kidding Me!
I know not everyone's a good speller, but don't you have to have minimal skills before you go on Wheel of Fortune? Sigh.
D'oh! Game Show Moments
When the clock is ticking and the cameras are rolling, the pressure to think quickly can make a contestant give the darndest answer, reveal a dirty little secret, or altogether blank out— on her husband's name. Watch this Wheel of Fortune contestant spin a big dollar amount, guess the right letter to double her winnings and practically solve the puzzle, and then stupidly spin again. It's called Wheel Of Fortune, but luck is not enough to take home the winnings from this game show. Case in point: this chick. She had plenty of good fortune on her side (ahem, the puzzle on the board was almost entirely spelled out) but not a clue in her head to solve this no-brainer.
