If you've always been envious that men have access to a libido in a pill, you might want to try "The Sex Pistol" - a new ice cream cocktail crammed with ingredients like ginkgo, biloba, and arginine, known to boost sex drives. The frozen drink, which comes with a shot of absinthe, will be served this Fall in a new London bar called the Icreamists. Patrons will be allowed only one drink each, since they don't want things getting totally out of control!

Earlier this week, an article in the Washington Post reminded readers that Viagra is officially 10-years-old this month. It seems hard to believe it was only a decade ago that the release of this male performance enhancer sparked such huge controversy. Of course, as that debate died down, a new one took its place: When will they make female Viagra? Though there has been talk of similar products, we're still waiting for the little blue pill to be made available for us women. It's pretty clear that it's going to happen eventually, so what I want to know is, would you try it?

To all you ladies out there suffering from a low sex drive, hang tight, there might be a cure sooner than later! According to a recent article in USA Today, researchers at the University of Virginia are testing a gel-based product that has similar effects on women that Viagra has on men. This product, which is intended to boost the libido of women who have lost their sexual appetite, has not yet been approved by the FDA. If this drug is given the go ahead, BioSante Pharmaceuticals, Inc. will be able to help an astonishing one-third of American women who are suffering from hypoactive sexual desire disorder.

This experimental drug comes in a pump bottle and 24 hours before engaging in intimate behavior, women are directed to rub a small dab of this gel onto the upper arm. The medicine will enter the blood stream resulting in a boosted libido. Pretty cool, huh? According to Dr. Anita Clayton, a psychiatrist with the UVa Health System, this drug is proving to be better than past treatments so hopefully women will be able to get the help they need. It's about time women had access to sexually-enhancing medical treatments like men do!

Dear Sugar,

I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for nine months. I have known him basically all my life and one day we just kissed! He is a great guy that loves me and cares for me like no other guy has. Now the only problem is that he loves sex (just like every other guy on this planet!) but I feel like I can't keep up with him. This is causing a rift between us because sometimes I'm just not in the mood and I feel like he feels let down. I have been wondering if there could be something wrong me or if there is some kind of woman Viagra I can take to help this situation. You should not feel embarrassed that you don't have a sex drive that matches your boyfriend's. Just like you stated, every guy on the planet loves sex, and if they had it their way, they'd have it all the time, but most women are just wired differently, that's all. Are you on any hormonal birth control? If so, that could be what's to blame. Many women feel the side effects from their BC wreaks havoc on their sex drive so perhaps you can experiment with other methods. Also keep lube handy - even if you aren't totally in the mood, it can make all the difference in the world. It's also not uncommon for couples to get stuck in a sexual rut so plan a date night, set the mood and wow the pants off your man - I'm sure he'll forget right then and there that there's a rift at all!

Unfortunately there are no Viagra like drugs on the market, however researchers are working on it. In the meantime, I suggest talking to your boyfriend about the way you feel. It sounds like your relationship has a great foundation so don't keep your insecurity a secret from him. If he hasn't told you that he feels let down, be sure you're not beating yourself up about nothing. Have a heart to heart and make sure you're on the same page about your expectations and needs. It's not often that I read spam email, but when the header is "Want back your erection?" I have to investigate. How do I do that? Well, according to this blooper-filled spam email, all I have to do is "drink Viagra Professional," which "all doctors on (sic) all over the world recommend" before sexual contact. When it "comes into your organism, she helps your penis to get hard by relaxing the smooth muscle of the blood vessels." She? "Solve self!" Huh? I wish the link worked. It was only $4.11. (I wonder if these guys have anything to do with this...)

Is Viagra For Women?

My boyfriend suggested that we share a pill of Viagra to enhance our sexual experience together. There is nothing lacking in our sex life, but he promises that it will be fun and that it will increase sensitivity for me.

Dear Inquisitive Ilana
Right now there is no definitive answer, however, information from past studies indicate that it could be more effective than not when treating women who suffer from an inability to become aroused.

Pfizer is currently undergoing a major study in England right now. But regardless of the results, Viagra will have no effect on a women's libido and it is not the hyped-up orgasm pill that some have claimed it to be.

Researchers believe Viagra will help women just like it helps men. When blood vessels in the penis become engorged with blood, an erection occurs. In women, when the blood vessels in the vagina become engorged with blood, it too becomes properly lubricated in preparation for intercourse.

Perhaps women who have been unable to achieve orgasms due to health issues may be able to climax with the help of the little blue pill. But until it can be proved, the FDA will not be working on a female version of Viagra.

So - if you really want to try it, then take 1/2 JUST ONCE to see it's effects. And if you are nervous, (as I think I would be) wait until it's either voted yay or nay before you start stealing your boyfriend's prescriptions. Don't forget that all drugs have potential side effects.

Remember what happened to Bill in Big Love when he upped his Viagra dosage to 100mg? He started seeing spots and passing out. Rule of thumb - safe sex first!

Sex Once Every Two Weeks?

Sex once a week or every two weeks - is this normal? I feel like my boyfriend has lost interest in me. I've tried to spice it up a bit, but I don't know what else to do! I talk to him, and all he says is that I take the fun out by asking and nagging him about it all the time. So I try not to say anything and then nothing ever happens, or after a week or so he just wants oral. We have some of the best sex I've ever had and I'd be fine having sex daily - I'm so attracted to him! We live together and have for about a year now. Sometimes I wonder if that takes the spice out of it. I try to not just be a roommate though and to still be the girlfriend I was before. He just isn't very affectionate either; maybe that has something to do with it. I find it difficult to try to turn on someone who I can't make out with anytime of the day or touch him without him freaking out. What is his deal?! Do I dare say anything about him going to the doctor for Viagra? He's only 26!

Last night on The Colbert Report, Arianna Huffington explained that John McCain's passion for Iraq is "his Viagra." Ariannna, the supreme ruler of the liberal site The Huffington Post, discussed how she fell out of love with her former hero McCain, while promoting her new short-titled book: Right Is Wrong: How the Lunatic Fringe Hijacked America, Shredded the Constitution, and Made Us All Less Safe.

The Huffington Post is not shy about its agenda - and love for Barack Obama. The fact that the site features unabashedly left-leaning opinions, often written by public officials or celebrities, probably means you either love it or hate it. I actually spend more time reading the comments, which are often fiery, but surprisingly nuanced.

Do you enjoy a regular dose of the Greek-born populous Arianna? Or, do you find The Huffington Post too partisan of a pill to swallow?
