Blake Resumes Work and Awaits a Visit From Ryan

Blake Lively chatted on the phone as she left her trailer on the NYC set of Gossip Girl today. She bundled up and headed back to work for the second day in a row to shoot upcoming scenes as fans wait to find out Gossip Girl's true identity. The show's 100th episode aired on Monday and was filled with plenty of OMG moments including Blair's royal wedding and Serena's love confession to Dan!

Blake's been balancing her time between the set and fashionable parties lately, and yesterday she even fit in a visit to one of her favorite Manhattan boutiques, Chanel - looks like she has a new quilted Chanel case protecting her iPad. She recently stepped out to support friend Jason Wu at the launch of his Target collection, and she could be prepping for multiple parties in conjunction with Fall Fashion Week. The stylish storm officially kicks off on Feb. 9, when Blake's boyfriend, Ryan Reynolds, will also be in town promoting his new film, Safe House.

For us (admittedly not in the throes of a violent parting of ways), the site raises two questions:

Is It Hilarious or Sad?

We’re happy to see the sellers get revenge (or at least revenue) after their heartbreak. But so many of the confessions in the Tell It section (in which users spill but don’t sell) are stories of men doing horrible things and women in horrible situations. The headline “NICE BOOTS BAD GUY” made us laugh . . . but the person who got dumped while her mother was dying broke our hearts.

Is It Cost-Effective or Cursed?

From a consumer's view, it’s a great deal! Over $1,000 off a Tiffany wedding band? It sounds too good to be true. And maybe it is. If you believe in karma, acquiring trinkets from failed relationships just might doom you to the same fate. Then again, wedding dresses for 40 percent off!

Ryan Plays It Safe in Spain as Blake Celebrates Gossip Girl's 100th Episode

Ryan Reynolds joined Denzel Washington and Safe House director Daniel Espinosa for a photocall in Madrid today. The trio are kicking off their international press tour from Spain before making their way back to the States. Ryan and Denzel shot the CIA thriller in South Africa last year, and since then, Ryan's sparked up a romance with his former Green Lantern costar Blake Lively.

Blake and Ryan spent Thanksgiving together at her sister's Park City, UT bed and breakfast, Johnson Mill Bed & Breakfast, and then celebrated Christmas with his family in Vancouver. The couple were recently spotted on a romantic getaway to Louisiana where Blake and Ryan explored New Orleans on foot. The Vampire Diaries "The Ties That Bind": The Good, The Bad, and The Bloody

Meanwhile, Tyler recruits someone to help free him of his sire bond to Klaus so he can be with Caroline again, and Elena gets something off of her chest.

Meet the Mind Behind the Going-Viral "Fotoshop" Video

At first glance, the above video seems like any other beauty commercial: beautiful women, a flashy soundtrack, and promises of perfection. Keep watching, though, and you'll find that the key "product" is Fotoshop by Adobé. Filmmaker Jesse Rosten created the faux commercial as commentary on the prevalence of Photoshop, and we're betting his video will reach a million views by the week's end. We caught up with him to find out why he created the spot, what he hopes people will take away from it, and whether he's a Photoshop user himself.

BellaSugar: The idea for Fotoshop came to you while watching an infomercial with before-and-after pictures that looked identical, just Photoshopped. What moved you from watching the commercial to do a project about the subject?
Jesse Rosten: I suppose I just like to make things. They say when you have a song stuck in your head the remedy is to listen to the actual song. It's like that with me and ideas. If I get an idea that I'm passionate about, I tend to obsess over them. The only cure is to go produce the idea. The beauty of modern filmmaking tools and internet distribution is that one doesn't need permission anymore to go make something. This required a lot of work, but was relatively inexpensive to put together. Plus, it was a lot of fun!

BS: I have to confess - I actually expected you to be a woman when I saw the video, but I'm glad to see a man tackle the issue. Why do you think men should care if women have their wrinkles airbrushed away?
JR: I thought it would be funny to have a men's version of the product, putting one's head on a herculean body, etc. But I opted to keep it simple and focused on women since they suffer the most with societal expectations of beauty. This is a complex issue and I don't pretend to have the answer, but as the incidents of eating disorders and anorexia among American women continue to rise, I think it's important to keep the discussion alive.

Would You Admit to Having a Favorite Child?

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe . . . How do you choose? Way back at the beginning of the year, Kate Tietje wrote a post for Babble titled "Mom Confession: I Think I Love My Son a Little Bit More." While some parents praised her for her candor, most took her to task for her admission. My thoughts immediately returned to her article while watching Barbara Walters's 18th annual 10 Most Fascinating People special last night. Though Walters's decision to put the Kardashian family on her list at all is worthy of its own post, an exchange between Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim and their momager Kris caught me off guard:

Barbara: Who is your mom’s favorite?
Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim (simultaneously): Kim!
Kris: You know, I think it seems -
Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim (simultaneously): Just say it!
Kris: OK, yes, she’s my favorite. (Pause.) No, she’s not!
Khloe: Whoever gives her the most percentage rights [is her favorite].
Kris: No, that’s not true. Just the most attention.

As parents we often strive do things fair and square among our children, but it doesn't always work out that way. Sure, sometimes one tot ends up with a few more goldfish in her bowl than the other, but would you ever openly admit that you loved one child more than another?

From Alora: "Awesome! I loved saying 'Oh' when the baby would move and people freaking out thinking I was in labor!"

From Andrea: "I'm due Nov. 16 and noticed if I just lean forward on the kitchen counter or hold my lower back at work, people start to care that I might be overworked!"

From Vanessa: "I went to NYC with my mom when I was seven months preggo, and we were waiting in an extremely long line for a taxi, so I just sort of bent over a little and rubbed my enormous belly, and we were moved to the front of the line. Funniest part was that it wasn’t even intentional – the baby kicked me, and it hurt me enough to make me lean forward!"

Here’s one more pregnant thought I had recently: "Feeling life move inside of you is like a constant hug. You are never alone."

Savvy Confessions: My Colleague Is a Fraud

This anonymous posting comes from our Savvy Confessions group, where all identities are kept anonymous.

There's this new guy in the office, he's been there for about a month, and right off the bat he's been a very horrible worker. He doesn't respond to emails and gives a lot of attitude to people. I notice a lot of spelling errors in his emails which is weird because he claims that he was valedictorian. My colleague and I got suspicious and started researching to see if what he's saying it's true . . . turns out he lied! The valedictorian that year is a totally different person! I tried to confront him but I think he suspected and he's been trying to avoid me and blow it off. I just think this situation is so crazy and I can't believe I was the one who found out. I already told the head of the office so I guess we'll just be playing it by ear now. I'm kind of nervous because I'm afraid he might blame me and do something harmful to me. After all, someone who lies about something major like that shouldn't be trusted right? What do you guys think of the situation?
