Tom Hanks/ Prof. Robert Langdon Not Welcomed in Church

Tom Hanks is a persona non grata in all of the churches of the Vatican and Rome. The Vatican has banned the filming of Angels and Demons, Dan Brown's sequel to The Da Vinci Code because it is "an offense against God."

The head of the Vatican's Prefecture For Economic Affairs said:

[The stories] turned the Gospels upside down to poison the faith. It would be unacceptable to transform churches into film sets so that his blasphemous novels can be made into mendacious films in the name of business.

The Church did not even read the script, as the name Dan Brown was enough to merit a ban. In The Da Vinci Code, Brown suggests that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had children, and Angels and Demons paints a picture of corrupt leadership in the Catholic Church.

I'm still trying to decide whether viewers are sophisticated enough to distinguish between fiction and accepted theology. Still, while modern moviegoers may wish the Catholic Church lightened up for the sake of art and entertainment, it's hard to imagine the Church freely giving its stamp of approval. Would it not lend credibility to the theology created by Dan Brown? Do you approve of the Church's disapproval?

Do Tell: Is the Male Body Beautiful?

For some time now, pop culture has had a tendency to display generally unappealing images of the nude male body -Tom Hank's behind in Charlie Wilson's War anyone? Since seeing full-frontal nudity on a man is so uncommon, it leads me to believe that people view male parts as distasteful, but does that mean they're gross?

For ages now, the naked female form has been considered far more beautiful than the unclothed male form, perhaps because of our lovely curves, but I’m just not sure I agree. So ladies, please do tell, do you think the naked male body is beautiful?

Sweaty men dressed as construction workers struttin' and dancin' to hot beats? Yeah, baby! Seriously, though, these guys are fun. They're doing percussive dancing in a show that originated in Newcastle, New South Wales called "Tap Dogs." It's like that scene in Big when Tom Hanks dances on the keyboard at Toys R Us, only more sophisticated.

You know so much about stars - so I wanted to ask you if you knew how often celebrities usually exercise? They all (well, most of them) look so good. I exercise pretty often, but I can't seem to get as toned as they get. Have you got any advice for me? Slim Shaney

Celebs are under heightened pressure to look good all of the time because they are getting photographed all of the time. You can't even begin to compare yourself to them. They've got the help of personal trainers, nutritionists and cooks.

You've got to think about the basics. Hard work=success. How hard are you workin it at the gym? How well do you eat? And do you get enough water and rest? Staying in shape, takes serious discipline.

If you say you are working out, but you are really checking POPSUGAR AND DEARSUGAR on your blackberry and flipping through InStyle while chillin on the elliptical, and then gobbling down a cheeseburger with fries because you think you've done your job, you're never going to look like the new and improved Janet Jackson.

Some of its genetics; and those blessed with a high metabolism definitely don't have to work as hard as others, but mostly it's about regimen. Don't compare yourself to the stars, just work with what g-d gave ya. Jessica Alba is definitely busting her perfect butt more than Tom Hanks to get those results!
