Thank goodness for TiVo! Just like many of you probably did, I raced home yesterday to catch Brad Pitt on Oprah. I wasn't digging his mustache per se, but my ears perked up when I heard him talk.

OK, OK I'm going to directly contradict every time your mother said, "read a book" or "go outside and play," because this week it's all about gripping TV. Here's what I mean:
Monday — It's not light TV, but sounds compelling:
- Section 60: Arlington National Cemetery — On HBO tonight at 9 p.m. this documentary tells the story of the section that serves as the burial ground of US military personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

ABC is teaming up with the Department of Homeland Security to make some good old-fashioned reality television. The new show, Border Security USA, will focus on US border protection agencies including: Transportation Security Administration, US Coast Guard, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Secret Service, Customs and Border Protection, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The federal government's efforts to stop illegal immigration, smuggling, and terrorism will be documented reality-television style.

We're kicking off our World of Faith month here at CitizenSugar, because as with I'd reckon, a good 93 percent of our presidential candidates, I'm fascinated by religion, spirituality, and its place in our world. I love to see Jesus and Jamba Juice duke it out for our scattered, Tivo-addled attention. So when the author of that book about reading the encyclopedia (more entertaining than it sounds, really) released a new book about living in the age of the internet while following all the rules once chiseled onto a tablet of some sort, I snapped it up immediately.

When you go home from work tonight, think about all the home appliances you use on a daily basis. Everything from your dishwasher to your toaster, your Tivo to your blow dryer. We are very fortunate to have all these gadgets at our fingertips, most of the time not even realizing how trivial they are to our everyday routine.
