This or That: Athletic or Slender Build?

Of course, personality, charm, wit, and good looks are important when it comes to scouting out a potential suitor, but body type definitely plays a role, too. I personally like bigger men, who make me feel small and more importantly protected, but I have friends that have always been attracted to slender, skinny guys. It's all about personal preference so tell me, do you prefer a man with an athletic or slender build?

This or That was a new series in 2008 and I'm glad to see that you all like it as much as I do! I came up with some pretty tough scenarios throughout the year, some fun and some serious, but all equally thought provoking. This or That: Calling Him the Wrong Name or Tooting Midromp?

After getting out of a relationship you've had a dry spell, and you're ready to get back in the game. You've been flirting with a friend of a friend for the past few weeks, and you've been dying for the opportunity to get more intimate with him. On a particularly rough night - you think you might be coming down with something and your ex just called out of the blue - your crush asks to come over to cheer you up. Would it be worse if . . .

This: In the middle of your steamy make-out session, just as he's running his hands through your hair, you accidentally call him by your ex's name? It wasn't a loud mistake, but the look in his eyes as he pulls away is enough for you to know he heard you.

Or . . .

That: As you're having sex (for the first time) you feel your stomach gurgle and before you can do anything about it, you release a particularly loud fart? You'd like to disappear, but instead you're lying there naked and vulnerable.

You and your closest friend have finally been fortunate enough to live in the same city for the past year, for the first time since high school. She moves around a lot and is always searching for the next best place. It’s been amazing having her around and your life feels full in a way you just can’t get from a boyfriend. But when she says she needs to meet you to talk, you’re instantly worried. Would it be worse if . . .

This: She’s decided to move again, but this time overseas? She doesn’t have a real game plan or know when she’ll be back. You hope it's successful, but it seems like she's just trying to escape.

Or . . .

That: It turns out she’s getting back together with her ex-boyfriend, the one she's taken years to get over? You want her to be happy, but not at the expense of her mental well-being.

This or That: Lied About His Marital Status or Education?

Just when you thought there weren’t any great guys out there for you, you've gone and fallen in love. And after a few months, it’s still going great. But now that things are getting serious, your boyfriend sits you down and tells you there’s something he’s been lying about. Would it be worse if . . .

This: He’s actually married? He and his wife are separated, but they have yet to actually go through the process of divorcing.

Or . . .

That: He never actually got that masters degree he always refers to, or even an undergraduate degree for that matter? He didn’t want you to think he was dumb, so he just decided to lie instead.

You’ve met the guy of your dreams. He’s funny, smart, kind, and totally into you. After meeting through a mutual friend, you enjoy the most romantic date ever the very next night. Towards the end of the evening, when he says he really wants to pursue things with you but has something he has to tell you first, you’re immediately worried. Would it be worse if . . .

This: It turns out he’s only in town for a few weeks visiting family? He actually lives 2000 miles away with no plans of moving in the next year or two.

Or . . .

That: He’s single, but his ex is pregnant with his child? He wants to make a great dad, but that means putting his relationship second.

This or That: Weight Loss or Increased Sex Drive?

After working with your gynecologist to find a birth control method that’s better at preventing your terrible PMS and cramps, you’ve finally decided on one that sounds promising. And after taking it for only a few months, you notice some big changes, both good and bad. Would it be worse if . . .

This: Your PMS has totally disappeared along with 10 pounds, but so has your sex drive? You’ve never felt better about your body, but less in the mood.

Or . . .

That: You’ve got control of your cramps, and find yourself consistently in the mood to get frisky, but you’ve also packed on more weight than you're comfortable with? You've tried amping up the exercise, but it's not going away.

In an attempt to spice things up, your boyfriend decides to take things out of the bedroom and onto the open road. But what you think is just a romantic mini road trip ends up being more than you bargained for. Parking off a one-lane, seldom-used road, you guys to try something totally new. Would it be worse if . . .

This: You decide to give sex in the car a try only to be interrupted mid-session by a tap on the window from a police officer? Apparently he happened to be passing by and wanted to make sure there wasn’t any car trouble.

Or . . .

That: In an attempt to be romantic, your boyfriend lays out blankets for you under a tree, but when it starts pouring, it turns out his keys are locked in the car? Not only do your cell phones not work, but it’s a four-mile walk to the nearest house.

The sex with your new boyfriend has been amazing. You guys have the kind of chemistry you thought only existed in movies. But during a fairly animated and exciting romp, things seem to get out of hand. Would it be worse if . . .

This: In the excitement of the moment, you just couldn’t control yourself and you let an embarrassingly loud bit of gas pass? He laughs in a way that makes you feel like it’s at you not with you.

Or . . .

That: Trying to be sexy, you manage to elbow him right in the temple so hard the he passes out? Although he’s only out for a few moments, you’ll never forget the expression on his face as he comes to.

This or That: Misinterpretation or Mixed Signals?

You and your best guy friend have known each other for over ten years and you’ve never been anything more than friends. You’ve both watched each other go through difficult times and failed relationships, but now things have become complicated. He’s finally settled down with a girlfriend, and you’ve found yourself pining away for his closest male friend. Would it be worse if . . .

This: After a night out alone with your best friend, his girlfriend suddenly finds your friendship uncomfortable? Apparently she feels like there’s more to it than meets the eye, and she’s demanded that he put up some serious boundaries.

Or . . .

That: When you go to put the moves on your crush, he humiliates you by turning you down mid-kiss? Apparently he likes you, but doesn’t want to do anything that could damage his friendship with your mutual best friend, but now things will be awkward no matter what.
