Everyone loves a good Godfather quote. People even quote the movie in other movies, like in You've Got Mail when Tom Hanks told Meg Ryan to "go to the mattresses." And that other time in You've Got Mail when Tom Hanks was all, "What day of the week is it? 'Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday." Solid gold. 10 Books That Are Better as Movies

It's a strange experience when you realize you're enjoying a movie more than you enjoyed the book on which it's based because so often the opposite is true. After all, presumably an author has the advantage because he/she can provide deep insight into characters that actors have to convey with but a glance. Every so often, though, a story makes a lot more sense onscreen. Here I've compiled a list of some stories I'd rather watch than read. What are yours? Just hit "Start" to begin the slideshow.

Oscar Date 411: Meryl Streep

When it comes to acting and love, Meryl Streep has staying power. The Iron Lady winner has been married to sculptor Don Gummer since 1978. He accompanied her to this year's Oscars, and she touchingly thanked him in her acceptance speech, saying "I want him to know that everything I value most in our lives you've given me."

So how did they meet? After her partner John Cazale, of The Godfather and Deer Hunter, died of bone cancer in 1978, Meryl got an offer to move into the vacant apartment of her brother's friend, Don Gummer. Don was traveling in Europe, so he didn't mind if Meryl stayed. When he got back, she didn't move out, and within six months they got married. They now have four kids together. Once again, Michelle Williams brought her BFF, Busy Philipps, as her red-carpet date tonight! Michelle, nominated for her role in My Week With Marilyn, has been friends with Busy since their time together on Dawson's Creek. From Dawson's to the Oscars - not bad!

Tonight we'll find out if Busy is a bless or a curse. She's already walked the carpet as Michelle's Oscar plus-one twice before, for Brokeback Mountain and Blue Valentine, and each time she lost. So far this year, Michelle's had good luck, winning a Golden Globe and an Independent Spirit Award for her latest role.

Busy's daughter has noticed that her mom has been quite occupied attending award shows with her friend this year. Busy tweeted today, "I reminded my daughter that I'd be gone today & tomorrow with Michelle and she replied, 'Mama, Michelle is nominated for too much stuff.'" Busy is also close to Michelle's daughter, Matilda Rose Ledger, acting as her godmother (with Jake Gyllenhaal as the godfather). See these sweet best friends on the carpet tonight.

When talking health food trends, last year was all: ancient grains, overnight oats, and gluten-free goodness. This year's biggest health food trends? Here's a hint: chia pets, the godfather of fitness, and pina coladas.

Coconut milk: With recent studies calling into question the benefits of soy, people were on hunt this for a dairy-free alternative that wasn't linked to breast cancer. While almond and rice milk are old favorites, they lack the richness and sweetness that soy does. Enter: coconut milk beverage. Not as thick and rich as the kind of canned coconut milk used in curries, coconut milk beverage is great in smoothies and ice cream; it's also great over cereal, in coffee, or on its own.
Pressed juice: It seems that Odwalla just isn't fresh enough! Not since the early days of Jack Lalanne has pressed juicing seen such a heyday. Once looked at as some sort of hippie juice, everyone - even Starbucks - is getting in on the pressed-juice craze. All of Hollywood seems to be juicing, too: stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Richie, and Olivia Wilde are regularly spotted with their carrot-beet-apple-and-green-stuff blends. Are you a juice-head? Chia seeds: Move over flax, there's a new seed in town! Chia seeds (yep, the same kind used to decorate those wildly adored, '80s novelty gift, chia pets) are everywhere this year. Chia seeds are high in protein, fiber, calcium, antioxidants, and omega-3s - zing!
