Patti Stanger of Millionaire Matchmaker fame did it; so did Melissa from this season's The Bachelor. So would you talk publicly about having plastic surgery, too?
While these women owned up to having breast reduction surgery, which some consider more of a medical need than a cosmetic choice, I'm still left wondering why they wanted to world to know such personal information.

Over the weekend I caught up on The Millionaire Matchmaker — a great show, by the way! Patti Stanger, the sassy and dynamic yenta, made it very clear to one of her clients that revealing her age to her potential suitor would be the end of their romance — she's of the mindset that age should not be a part of the dating equation.
I happen to disagree.

Let me get this straight: a relatively attractive, young, self-made millionaire living in Las Vegas needs the matchmaker's help to find a gold-digging sweetheart? Makes absolutely no sense, but we'll roll with it. So Patti, our matchmaker, sets him up with a hot chick.

The Millionaire Matchmaker was not responsible for this first date fizzle; the dude did all the choosing. He went for looks over brains (surprise, surprise) and the result was this mind-numbing journey through the Malibu hills on horseback. When he talked about giving to charities, she talked about giving up carbs.

Like flies to a fly strip, Lonnie and Patrick — millionaires who, for some reason, even in the bastion of shallowness that is LA, cannot get a date on their own — show up at a social event put together by the Millionaire Matchmaker herself. (She reveals to Lonnie in this episode that she's not married. "That's weird," he replies.) Watch as she disses the woman who didn't straighten her hair, rolls her eyes at the woman who didn't have time to get extensions, and generally acts like a beyotch.

I couldn't help but think while watching The Millionaire Matchmaker show that these people all deserve each other: the woman who started this dating escort service; the millionaires who want "Madonna in the bedroom, Martha in the kitchen, and Mary Poppins in the nursery;" and the women whose primary criterion for a prospective sex partner/husband is that he make six figures. Whatever "romantic" means, this is the opposite.

Did any of you catch Bravo's new show The Millionaire Matchmaker last night? If not, let me recap it for you. Patti Stanger, a dynamic, loudmouthed, and bossy Los Angeles-based matchmaker, helps find compatible partners for the uber-rich and successful men of LA who were too busy building their careers to find time for love.

I'll admit it: one of my guilty TV pleasures is The Millionaire Matchmaker. I find the orchestrated pairings entertaining and stomach-churning at the same time. Of course, there are other matchmakers hard at work without reality TV contracts.

I have a few. They include: watching The Millionaire Matchmaker, eating too much cheese, listening to Britney Spears, buying pricey coffee instead of making it at home, celebrity news, and savoring dark chocolate (OK I don't feel so guilty about that one).
Do you have any lowbrow tastes or regular indulgences that make your life that much better?
