As we said goodbye to the first season of The City last night, we also watched Whitney say goodbye to her boyfriend, Jay. After he broke up with her last week, he decided he made a mistake by letting her go, but it was too little, too late. Whitney realized she was the one who had let herself go in their relationship — focusing too much time and energy on Jay, which was taking away from her career and friendships.

I caught up on Monday night's episode of The City last night, and I have to say, Jay's late-night antics really made me doubt his trustworthiness. He's currently living with his girlfriend, Whitney, while he looks for a new apartment, and while she's home cozy in bed, he's out being the rock star that he is until the wee hours of the morning, doing who knows what!
I happen to agree with the saying "nothing good happens after midnight" — well, maybe 2 a.m.!

Newsweek has outdone itself in the funny department by creating a faux-Obama reality show filled with voice-overs, stares, and close-ups — just like MTV's The City. The District will chronicle President Obama's first 100 days as reality TV.
Just like Whitney Port, President Obama has a new career to promote, but first he must learn the rules of his new hometown.

If you've been watching The City, you're fully aware of how skinny Allie is. Despite the fact that she's a model whose "supposed" to be small, her weight was on everyone's mind on last night's episode, especially Kelly Curtone! Her incessant questions as to whether or not Allie was all right were uncomfortable to watch, so I can only imagine how she must have felt to be on the receiving end.

Last night's episode of The City proved to be as dramatic as ever, and in true reality fashion, everyone was intertwined in each other's business. The jury is still out as to whether or not Adam cheated on Allie, and while Whitney and Jay have nothing to do with it, their differing views are starting to affect their relationship. Of course, being there for your friends is important, but holding innocent bystanders accountable for their friends' actions might be taking things a bit far.

Putting all your trust in someone is often easier said than done, and sometimes, you can say you trust someone without truly feeling it in your gut. This was apparent in last night's episode of The City when Allie asked Whitney to keep an eye on her man while she was away for the weekend. Who knows how serious she was when throwing out her request, but clearly she should have meant it literally — Adam's late night antics were sketchy, to say the least.

Whitney and Erin are both smitten by the men in their life, and since their relationships began around the same time, I wasn't shocked to see Whitney comparing the two on last night's episode of The City. Erin and Duncan have already exchanged I love yous, but Jay still isn't comfortable putting the BF/GF label on his relationship with Whitney, and it's clearly starting to weigh on her. Of course we all progress at different paces, and we all have different bonds with our significant others, but tell me, do you ever compare your relationships to your friends'?

The Hills has wrapped for the season, but not to worry, we now have The City! With a new cast of characters comes a slew of new drama — the good, the bad, and I'm sure, the ugly. If you tuned in last night, you know that Whitney moved to the big apple for a new career and a new man, but it seems like her new love interest has already caused his fair share of turmoil within the group.

When making its list of the best cities for America's youth, the Wall Street Journal looked at factors like how easy it is find a job or a future mate.
Where today's young people decide to settle down once the "recovery" begins will have a big impact on American cities. Urban centers that become "youth magnets" should see a boom in cultural allure, along with an economic advantage.
