Yankee fans are the worst in sports. Period. Their level of pretentiousness and aggressive behavior is out of control. I am a female Phillies fan living in NYC. A male Yankees fan tried to get physically aggressive with me because I was wearing a Phillies hat several days ago. No words were even exchanged. I can't stand when people think that it is ok to use sports to showcase your aggression in life. Grow up. It's all about the thrill of the game.

Don't get me wrong, there are definitely some d-bag Phillies fans as well. I am also an Eagles fan. A team that has some of the worst fans in sports. Knowing this, I still say Yankees fans take the cake.

I think fans in Philadelphia are the worst. They will boo and throw stuff at players on their own team. The Eagles stadium is the only stadium in the US to have it's own jail cell and court room for unruly fans.

Actually Yoga that was in The Vet. And no we are not the worst. And btw that cell was used more for NY fans!

Sorry Philly, the vet's the old stadium right? Still - it's pretty bad when you have a jail cell. I live close enough to make it a day trip to go see a game in philly but my hubby tells me I wouldn't like how they treat the opponent's fans and that I couldn't wear anything of my own team even if they aren't playing my team because I'd still end up wearing food/drink on me.

Phillies fans are like Phish fans and need to stop with the "ph" everything. It's November, baseball should be over.

I have to go with Yankee fans from personal experience. But that video showed some pretty tough competition from Philly fans. What is up with the t.i.t.s chant..?? Clearly there is a story behind that one....but seriously???

@yogaforlife you can't judge Philadelphia's baseball fans based upon what the football fans do. Our football fans are much rowdier than our baseball fans. You would be safe to go to Citizens Bank Park wearing an opposing teams jersey. There will be some heckling of course but you don't need to fear for your safety.

An Eagles game...that's a different story.

You know what sucks about the Yankees...
All of their seats are filled with corporate america.. the ones who can afford the huge ticket prices. Its pathetic. Get some "real" fans in those seats. Half the stadium was empty after the 7th inning in game 1

Philly fan born and raised!!!! I have been to games in both NY and Philly and i much prefer the ones in South Philly!!

I've got to say Yankees fans are far worse (sorry Yoga!). Although, I don't think the majority of fans of either team are physically violent. A lot of Yankees fans are just annoying, IMO.

Yankees fans are by far the worst! I live in Philly so, don't get me wrong...I know some people take it to the next level...but way more Yankees fans do:) Phillies rock!! Woohoo!! lol

As a Red Sox fan, I automatically default to disliking the majority of Yankees fans (not my gram-in-law though - she gets a free pass) although I understand there are a lot of Red Sox fans that are becoming obnoxious too.

I was at a Sox home game vs. the braves, and two girls who were Yankee fans started tossing their sodas on all the Sox fans around them. I was lucky enough to be in the section over so I could witness this first hand. The people on the upper deck right above them, tossed stuff on these two girls who proceeded to start a fist fight then. As they were being escorted out of the park, they of course gave the bird right when the camera for the big screen was on them. The whole stadium started booing them and chanting "good bye". It was kind of exciting, I couldn't believe the balls these two teenage girls had to start a ruckus like that. I can't wait until I finally get to see a game between the Yankees and the Sox. I mean if this happens when they're not playing each other, I can only imagine what happens when they do.

There was an obnoxious Red Sox fan at the Yankees/Indians game I went to earlier this season and I thought the same thing about what it must be like when the two teams actually play each other!

(Although, this person wasn't as bad, he was just annoying.)

I'm an Indians fan. I don't think people find Cleveland fans that annoying. They mostly just feel sorry for us since we lose at everything.

(Except basketball, but we can't even pull out a championship in that. Plus, people love LeBron, so a lot of people are Cleveland fans when it comes to basketball.)

I chose neither and opt for Pittsburgh fans. Ew.

lilkimbo - cleveland fans are not annoying at all! One of my husband's bestfriends who is a Cleveland transplant living in Charlotte is a diehard Indians fan. He totally is such a good sport about the Cleveland teams. We took him to see the Indians play at Baltimore this year and he was like a little kid in a candy store.

And now that you guys have both Shaq and Lebron, I'd imagine a lot more people will be following the b-ball team.

Yoga, I'm glad to hear you say that! I've always thought Cleveland fans are among the less annoying ones, but I'm a Cleveland fan, so I didn't know if maybe we were annoying to everyone else.

And yeah, basketball is actually my least favorite out of basketball, football, and baseball, but I'm still really excited for this season. And I agree, I've heard a lot of people mention that they are really going to be following the Cavs more this season, even people who didn't follow them or who casually followed them in the past.

It's really a toss up between the two. I'm personally a Mets fan (I know, I know..) And with the Phillies being such a big rival, I've seen first-hand their obnoxiousness. However, the Yankee fans tend to get a bit out of control during the Subway Series. I really don't know who to choose between those two teams.

I think the phillies fans are more obnoxious with their little towels waving around. Any sports fan from any city can be a fanactic and take the love of their team too far. I'm a Yankee fan and I'm tired of getting the 3rd degree from Mets fans and Red Sox fans just because our team is good. I've never actually met a phillies fan. Go Yankees!!

I'm a Yankees fan, so yes I'm biased, but I've been to dozens of Yankee games and never seen a fan of another team be yelled at/assaulted. I have been called a c*nt when I was 10 wearing a Yankee hat in Cape Cod though. I have also seen people wearing shirts saying "Jeter swallows." Every team has bad and good fans, though (my ex is a Sox fan and he was a class act). It is what it is...alcohol and sports and mob mentality....

Yankees suck. Red Sox rule!

I live in Boston. Red Sox fans are just total A-holes. I couldn't care less about baseball, but Spacekatdude is a huge Yankees fan. He has to put up with a ton of vicious invective every time we go to a bar to watch a game.

It's so freaking rude to yell "Yankees Suck." It's like, the motto of Boston. It doesn't matter, let him root for whoever he wants!

Oh SKG - I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm a red sox fan but I hate when they behave badly. I hate when any fans get rabid with mob mentality.

I was up visiting Boston this summer (beautiful city btw - just don't think I'd survive the winters there) and it's like everyone lived in Red Sox gear. Like it's a college campus or something. My hubby, who grew up in a family of yankees fans, has been a diehard red sox fan since a child. His favorite teams have always been the underdogs or teams that did bad for decades. So he remembers rooting for the sox well before they won in 2004 and he says the fans have changed so much since then. It's cool to root for the sox now and a lot of people have jumped on that bandwagon and are so snotty/cocky/obnoxious about the sox and it sickens him.

My family is rabid Pittsburgh fans and it kills me because their love of all things P-burgh has prevented them from actually gaining any understanding of the technicality of the sports and they just rant and rave about anything/everything while actually knowing nothing. I could never root for anything P-burgh related because of them.

Btw - I love that you call your hubby spacekatdude and that he created that as his screenname. So cute!
