There's no owner in sight. The dog's taking up two seats on the train and he ain't moving anytime soon, cuz he's out like a light. Meanwhile, paying customers are forced to grab hold of a rail and stand while the train is in transit. You think he's gonna plant himself down on some nasty-ass public transit floor? Think again, humans. (Is this the canine response to our deadbeat feline friend?)

As if riding on the subway weren't sensory overload enough, this poor woman is the subject of a "no pants" prank courtesy of the Improv Everywhere jokers. She doesn't know whether to laugh or to be startled by the fact that slowly, all the dudes getting on the subway car are wearing boxers--so she just clutches her purse. (She can be thankful it wasn't "tighty whiteys" day, God forbid!)

Milan's Risque Subway

When I board the subway at night after a long, hard day of work, I relish the opportunity to sit in silence with myself. Nothing would irk me more than having to ignore the commotion caused by a pole-dancing Catwoman armed with a boom box. Sound unlikely? Think again, because Milan has got it going on.

A young twenty-something lap dancer has cornered a new market: late night travelers of public transportation. It oddly makes sense: her clients are trapped, bored, and ready to decompress at the end of the day. If they're seated, they have laps. If they're standing, she has a pole. And if they're working this late at night, then surely they have money to spend. So she does a little dance, takes a collection, and leaves the train at the next stop.

She hasn't encountered any complaints yet, as most people consider it a "welcome change" from the usual beggars and musicians aboard Milan's Metropolitana. (Are Milanese women asleep while this is going on?) Meanwhile, I'm on the fence about this...or edge of my seat: are we on the fast track to getting our own source of public transpor-gyration in the U.S.?

Pantsless Subway Ride

"They came, they boarded, they took off their pants." If this doesn't strike fear into your hearts, I don't know what will. The pantless subway ride started in NYC, but has since moved to Boston. Participants find out online where it's happening and then strip before they get on board. Although it seems most people have on sweats, pajama bottoms, and boxers, a few people seem to have panties or tighty whiteys on. Oh, god. (Please don't bring this to San Francisco! My commute is bad enough.)

Every year, a select group of souls agree to get on public transportation without pants on. Some men are in boxers, others in briefs, and for women who don't have a problem with men staring at their asses more than they already do - they're in panties. I saw this in San Francisco, and the video below shows folks in NYC (In January? With snow on the ground? Pantsless?!), but if this were an annual event in your town, would you ride public transportation without pants?
