Japanese television always has a plethora of insane and useless antics on display, but this-- this is just downright cool. Only two people are visible in the following performance, but I've counted up to ten on stage at once. They all work seamlessly together to create a less than romantic dinner scene where everything is tossed and turned upside down- boyfriend not excluded. The War Of The Roses has nothin' on this couple!

Movie Scenes So Bad...They're Good

It's no surprise that this little montage is Web Junk TV's Junk Of The Day. Some film buff compiled six categories of bad movie scenes and completely redeemed them in the process. How? Well, I've learned that bad scripts and bad acting go hand-in-hand (who gives a shrug before they die?); that horses have an amazing capability to roll over and electric slide their way out of trouble when necessary; and that it's perfectly acceptable to be an obnoxious perv on a first date. Who would've thunk?

The Summer Olympics: Now a Stage Show!

We've seen special effects done live on stage before, but this compilation of Summer Olympic highlights is out of control. Only one person is visible throughout the entire performance, but there's a total of nine peeps on stage. They work together and flawlessly pull off one hellavuh human stage show. Need I mention that this is straight outta Japan? Surprise, surprise.

Anal Beer Bongs, Vodka-Soaked Tampons (Those Crazy Teens!)

What is going on with today's teens? I just read a study that said there's been a 76 percent rise in emergency room visits between 1998 -2005 among teens who are abusing ADHD drugs like Adderall. (They crush the meds, which may or may not have been prescribed to them, snort them, and can experience side effects that mimic cardiac arrest.)

And now, a news report says that not only are many teens abusing alcohol and drugs - they're delivering those substances to their systems in bizarre and harmful ways. In Phoenix, AZ, they're snorting vodka, and some teens are soaking vodka in their tampons, which, as one expert said, can damage their reproductive systems. (And I would rather not visualize what an anal beer bong is.)

This is just sad. I was a pretty innocent teen, and although there were some bad girls in junior high who brought alcohol to school, I don't think they were doing drugs.

The woman in the video who specializes in dealing with teen substance abuse says that drug use triples between sixth and eighth grade. Did you see this in your schools growing up?

12-Year-Old Kid Shows Us How It's Done

Kevin Lin is my new hero. While most 12-year-olds are sitting around picking their noses or playing video games, this little badass shows you how, with Adobe After Effects, you can be a ~~one man~~ one boy special effects wizard. I particularly love the "Take that, bizatches!" expression he throws at the camera after each special effect. Well done, son, well done.

Day Two: Obama Tackles Gitmo, Military Trials, & Interrogation

An executive order signed by Barack Obama today orders the closing of Guantanamo Bay within a year. The order, along with two others calling for the reviewing of military trials of terror suspects and the banning of harsh interrogation methods, mark a sharp break from Bush administration policies unpopular around the world and among many Americans.

After the signing, the president said:

The message we are sending around the world is that the US intends to prosecute the ongoing struggle against violence and terrorism and we are going to do so vigilantly, we are going to do so effectively, and we are going to do so in a manner that is consistent with our values and our ideals . . . We intend to win this fight, and we intend to win it on our terms.

The Guantanamo Bay order requires the closure of the prison no later than one year from today, but also sets up a review process for figuring out what to do with the prisoners. The order on military trials creates a task force to review detainee policy. The interrogation order revokes a previous Bush order and forbids harsh tactics, while requiring all agencies to grant the Red Cross access to detainees. It also creates a special task force to look into rendition policies, and CIA interrogation practices. Are you happy with these executive orders?

Dick Cheney Says Good Morning America!

Today on Good Morning America outgoing Vice President Dick Cheney talked flying shoes, Hillary Clinton, and Saddam Hussein. Here are some excerpts.

On Obama's national security team:"I must say, I think it's a pretty good team. I'm not close to Barack Obama, obviously, nor do I identify with him politically. He's a liberal. I'm a conservative. But I think the idea of keeping Gates at Defense is excellent. I think Jim Jones will be very, very effective as the national security adviser. While I would not have hired Sen. Clinton, I think she's tough. She's smart, she works very hard, and she may turn out to be just what President Obama needs."
On waterboarding: "I was aware of the program, certainly, and involved in helping get the process cleared, as the agency in effect came in and wanted to know what they could and couldn't do. And they talked to me, as well as others, to explain what they wanted to do. And I supported it."

On closing Guantanamo Bay prison: "If you're going to close Guantanamo, what are you going to do with those prisoners? One suggestion is, well, we bring them to the United States. On whether the US would have invaded Iraq with different intelligence: "This was a bad actor, and the country's better off, the world's better off with Saddam gone, and I think we made the right decision, in spite of the fact that the original NIE was off in some of its major judgments."
On his thoughts after seeing shoes flying at the president: "Well, I thought the president handled it rather well. He had some good moves the way he ducked and avoided the shoe and then what was his response? That it was a size 10 and he could see that as it went by. No, I think it's an incident where an Iraqi reporter threw shoes at the president. I don't attribute any special significance to it. "

Jurassic Park: Sweded

Looks like we have a film inspired by Be Kind Rewind. If you haven't seen the movie, "Sweded" basically means a homemade low-budget remake, aka two minutes of awesome. I think the costume design and special effects are especially authentic. Plus, it's much easier to sit through without all the blood and gore. That, and it's about two hours shorter than the original.

Dear E. Jean,

I’m an elegant, attractive, educated and well-spoken 37-year-old woman. After nothing but eight long years of dating horror stories, three months ago I met a really attractive, sexy, open, bright, educated, and interesting 40-year-old man who was well raised and comes from a very nice family.

Since then we have been seeing each other up to three to four times a week, including sleepovers at both my house and his. Given that we both talk openly with one another about desiring marriage and a family, we realize the need, and share the same interest in spending lots of quality time together. We also realize that by doing so, we have put our relationship on a rather fast track. That can be an exciting thing to do, but it can have some major pitfalls too that are rather unexpected.

So, the major issue we are contending with has to do with altogether too frequent discussion and many detailed references to past relationships - on both sides. Honestly, my new man opened this line of communication with me very early into our relationship. I believed at that time, and appreciated, that it was purely for informational purposes - not to make me jealous and certainly not to showboat. In turn, I felt safe opening up about my past heartbreaks in order to let him know he was in good company, but that I was serious minded about him and what we could build together based on what lessons we had cultivated from our past choices and subsequent disappointments.

But now, three months later, I am growing increasingly concerned by his constant references to not only the most recent failed relationship (nothing more than an extended "Summer fling" type of love affair with a seriously-troubled woman in her mid-30s), but also to the many women he has dated over the last 20 years. How he remembers so much detail is beyond me. I can scarcely recall what any of my exes looked like in the nude, nor do I care to recall for that matter. I have pointed out several times how much better it would be for me, and for us, to converse about more interesting and more appropriate things. We do, by the way, laugh often and have a wide range of topics that we chat about. And he has been agreeable each time to my request. But then, at some point soon after, he launches into yet another story or analysis of what might have been wrong with so andso or how hurt he was when his attempts to help and/or intervene with this one or that one failed. To me, he seems hung up on the past failed relationships.

But the most damaging thing of all is that he provides me with far too much detail about past sexual matters. Sometimes he tells me that sex with so and so was awful, then he recants and says that in the beginning with her he actually really enjoyed it. It is becoming more clear to me as I grow to know him that almost every single lady he has been with since he was in high school had serious emotional and/or psychological problems. We're talking about family histories of severe alcoholism and physical abuse, women with eating disorders, girlfriends who may have been sexually abused by parental figures, rape, neglect, poverty, etc.

Yet again, this is just the beginning so read more!!!

His most recent ex-girlfriend currently works as a high-school special education teacher, but at night and on weekends she sells drugs (pot, pills) out of her basement, to some of these same students she teaches by day!

My most recent mistake was a relationship with a man I came to view as secretive, commitment phobic, and probably living some kind of double life. I think the whole affair was one great big lie. Admittedly, it was a traumatic bond and a most painful experience for me. It has now been a year since I ended that nightmare, and sufficient time has passed so that I am more than ready, not to mention eager, to move on.

My new man, however, did not make a clean break from his most recent affair with the teacher, and when he met me he was still interacting with her. I cannot be sure how often. He finally informed me last week that he recently received a long-winded letter from her, filled to the brim with apologetic words and sorrowful language and leaving no doubt in my mind that she would like to pick it up where they left off and try again. He insists that he is over her, well aware that he'd be stupid to ever go back to her, that he is happy with me, that I blow her out of the ballpark in terms of just about everything. But my anxiety grows by the day and I am uncomfortable and uncertain of his true feelings for me, and for her. I have an impossible time anymore taking a man at his word. The man is a giant ass.

His being an ass, however, is beside the point. You must deal with the genuine travesty here, which is this: You’ve told us that his “most recent” girlfriend is a special education teacher, and that she’s selling drugs to kids - not only to kids - but to her special kids who need extra care.

This is murderous! The drugs she sells to the kids may interact with their medications. The effects of the interactions - memory loss, hallucinations, convulsions, seizures, brain damage, car crashes, death - if I listed just the obvious ones would take up the whole page here on DearSugar. So call the police at once. Also alert the Board of Education. The women needs to be in jail by tonight.

I’ve never heard of such a weak, deluded, manipulative, talky-talky, embarrassing excuse for a man in my life.

That this “bright, educated, and interesting” boyfriend of yours didn’t stop his drug-pushing “Summer fling” from imperiling the children in her care tells me everything I need to know about him.

This is not a man a smart woman would ever consider as a husband and father. Underneath that “nice family” veneer, he’s a 40-year-old narcissistic pantywaist. He’s so involved with himself and all the sex he had with screwed-up, alcoholic, sexually-abused women in the past, he will never see you for the healthy, worthy, lovely woman who you are.

Get rid of him, Miss Buffalo! You can do a thousand times better.
