Though a song can't make the pain of a breakup go away, it sure can help lift your spirits, or allow you to give into your blues, if that's the path you want to take. Lil Tip: Sing Your Children to Sleep

When it comes to my singing, I've got a couple of fans. My son and daughter don't mind that my vocals are off tune, in fact, my tunes help them sleep. If your tot has trouble transitioning from bathtub to bedtime, try breaking out in song. Turn this into a fun activity by having them help you with the lyrics. Once you perfect the tune specific to the child, sing or hum it to soothe them.

That’s why people shell out tons for a concert ticket and couple’s love to embrace a particular song and call it their own. And the song that represents a couple is often not a love song, but something more quirky, a song that symbolizes a particular time or feeling. New Song and Video From Jay-Z's American Gangster

Jay-Z fans, take heart: You'll have plenty to hold you over until the November release of Jay's new album, which is inspired by the upcoming movie American Gangster.

Yesterday, Fader debuted a new song from the project called "Roc Boys (and the Winner Is)," which you can listen to online. I don't love it as much as "Blue Magic," maybe becaause the brass-laden beats sound like something recycled off of Kingdom Come.

But that's ok, because I'm too busy watching the official video for "Blue Magic," which hit the web today. Much like the mood of the music, the video straddles old Hollywood and modern-day New York, with imagery of fancy cars, artful graffiti, and even a glimpse at Denzel Washington, who stars in the movie about a 1970s heroin kingpin. P.L.O.W. - Tunes about Water

I usually listen to my iPod to get pumped up for a run, but sometimes I don't feel like huffing and puffing and getting all sweaty. Plus it takes a lot of energy to fully exert my body like that, so when my energy is low, I like to take my time and go for a nice long walk along the water. Not only is it great exercise, but it gives me a chance to be alone with my thoughts and really appreciate the gorgeous surroundings.

Since I love to walk along the beach or lakeside, this playlist is a tribute to everything water - rivers, streams and even rain. After all, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for crisp, refreshing, glorious water.

The Sh*ttiest Mixtape Boom Box Bet

Take two guys, two mix tapes, one big ass boom box, and one bet. The guy who could create the shittiest mix tape was named the winner. The loser had to swallow his pride (and risk his personal safety!) and hit the mean streets of NYC with both playlists blaring from a boom box. Aziz, the loser, gets into it, rockin' out to Sixpence None the Richer's "Kiss Me" (a song that even I, a chick, find embarrassing), among other "best to listen to in the privacy of your own home" tunes. The glares from passersby are worth the time it takes to watch this...
