Song of the Day: Kristin Chenoweth's Comic-Con Performance

As I mentioned in my writeup of the Pushing Daisies panel at Comic-Con, one of the greatest moments was getting to hear an impromptu song from Kristin Chenoweth upon the request of one very cute, very young fan.

I was able to pull the song off my recorder, and so now, you can check Chenoweth's gorgeous rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" for yourself. The audio isn't perfect - I wasn't expecting to be recording a Tony winner (and Emmy nominee and onetime Miss Oklahoma runner-up!) when I woke up on Saturday - but even with some fuzz, you'll get the idea.

"Somewhere over the rainbow"...there's a pair of earplugs and an eye mask so I don't have to listen to or watch this. Take this normally poignant song, add a precocious Tom Jones wannabe, backup singers, and Vegas style dancing--and you've got a cheese-stravaganza of epic proportions. (Thanks for reminding us about this, emma!)

Gwyneth Paltrow and Matthew Morrison "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" Duet: Love It or Leave It?

Gwyneth Paltrow isn't just a frequent guest star on Glee these days, she's also a guest star on Matthew Morrison's upcoming album. We recently heard a single off of the album, "Summer Rain,", and while that one was an original track his duet with Paltrow is a cover of The Wizard of Oz classic "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

Unsurprisingly, Paltrow and Morrison's voices sound beautiful together, but I think I would have liked to hear them sing something a bit more unexpected. You can listen to the track here, and let me know what you think.

Gwyneth Paltrow Piles GMA, Glee, and Good Cooking on Her Plate

Gwyneth Paltrow stepped out into the NYC rain after an appearance on Good Morning America today. She's making the press rounds to promote her cookbook, My Father's Daughter, which she launched with a star-studded party earlier this week. She got dressed up again to support pals like Christy Turlington Burns and Meryl Streep at last night's Good Housekeeping Shine On Awards. Gwyneth's also gearing up for her second cameo on Glee after debuting her "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" duet with Matthew Morrison on Monday. She'll reprise her role on the small-screen hit in next week's new episode, but you don't have to wait until then to see Gwyneth get back to singing. She also shows off her musical skills in the Country Strong DVD that was released today.
