Dear Poll: Sleeping in Separate Beds

All relationships are different and things that work for some couples don't for others. Sleeping in separate beds is one of those things. Growing up, I never realized that my grandparents having separate bedrooms was out of the norm, but as an adult, I realize that they clearly just weren't compatible bedmates. Maybe one of them snored or hogged the bed. Whatever the reason, it worked for them; they were married for over 50 years!

I personally think one of the best parts about a relationship is sleeping together. You have an instant bed warmer, someone to cuddle with throughout the night, and someone to wake up next to in the mornings. That's just me, so what about you? Would you ever consider sleeping in separate beds from your significant other?

Pit Bull Has a Snoring Issue

This pit bull has no trouble getting a good night's rest. His owner wishes she could say the same for herself. How could something so painfully cute be so painfully annoying all at once?! Cuz torture knows no bounds . . .

I never thought I'd consider any kind of snoring "cute," but here it is. Who would've thunk that something so tiny could make this kind of noise while sleeping? Or maybe he's not sleeping at all. Maybe this is a conniving ploy to have our attention on him at all times. Who could turn away from the sight and sound of this? His thoughts exactly.

Is this little guy having an itty-bitty bunny nightmare or is this just how he gets his snore on? The jury is out. But with those teeth chattering away and those cheeks in full effect, I think he's dreaming of bouncing through a field of candied carrot grass, broccoli bushes, and celery stick trees topped with green spinach leaves. Mmmmmunch, munch, munch, munch, munch.

Last night I was having dinner with some girlfriends and one of them was complaining about how loud her husband snores. We all got a chuckle out of her re-enactment, but when one of us asked her if she snored too, her hesitation was undeniable! She danced around the question for a few seconds, then reluctantly admitted that her hubby says she does, even though she doesn't believe him! Since we all know snoring crosses the gender line, tell me ladies, are you a snorer?

This Dog Is Out Cold

Hey lady, if you haven't noticed, Maggie here cannot hear you. She's snoring up a storm (cute tongue!) and cannot be bothered. (There seems to be a whole new ~~genre of animal vids~~ fetish out there: the snoring critter.) I am not complaining.

If you were in the next room and heard this snoring, you'd assume a very large man was on the couch having a nap. And you'd be wrong. It's really Rambo the snoring dog. Bonus: his incredibly dignified sleeping positions. (Leave the guy alone, will you?)

Baby Scared by Snoring

This poor baby is just trying to get some shut-eye, but dad's epic snoring is getting in the way. At first I thought this was just amazing timing, but it appears mom and dad are playing a mean trick on baby. Boo! (Hey baby, if it makes you feel any better, I too would be startled by that sound!)

Stranger Than Fiction: Car Crashes Into Couple's Bedroom

Imagine if you will, sleeping soundly in your bed with your boyfriend. Maybe you're spooning, maybe he's snoring, you're dreaming of kittens ice-skating...whatever.

Suddenly, a car crashes through your bedroom. Motor fluid sprays in your now-awake faces as you both struggle to get out from under the weight of the car, which now lies on top of you.

Well, that's exactly what happened to two Nevada college students last week when a drunk driver, thinking he was headed into the home his ex-girlfriend now shares with a new boyfriend, drove instead into their bedroom at 4 a.m.

Only Trent Wood's lower body was pinned by the car, but his screaming girlfriend Kristin Palmer's entire body was pinned. In less than an hour, thanks to neighbors who called 911, emergency workers removed the car from the couple. Wood says he was ecstatic he and his girlfriend only suffered minor scrapes and burns, and not paralysis as he feared.

He told a reporter, "When you experience something like that there's no limits anymore, you can try to do whatever you want to do. We feel like we have more of a purpose, like we were meant to live." I bet the drunk driver, who is up sh*t creek without a paddle (or car), has the opposite sentiment.
