As a Buddhist, when I heard those comments, I thought to myself "Oh no, she is so out of touch." While Buddhists see the world and events differently than those who don't subscribe to the ideas behind karma, you would never use it in an accusatory way, as I think she did. We are all responsible for our own actions, and the deaths of all those people is nothing short of a huge tragedy. The Dalai Lama, whose name she threw in to her little comment, teaches a doctrine of compassion. There was nothing compassionate about her statement, and she should really reflect on the effects of her own karmic actions.

I guess when Dior pulled her ads in China she decided to act and make an apology. Not to metion China decided not to show any of her films. Mmm, it's so heart warming.

i do agree that people in the spotlight should really learn about the ideas they are going to talk about. so many people look up to them and it's just really irresponsible of them to speak of something without knowing much about it.

her apology statement is not sufficient for the damage caused. i don't think such a simple statement will suffice.

We truly do apologize for Sharon Stone, we apologize that she was given a forum to speak publicly, we apologize for the fact that she is considered a celebrity in our culture. Believe me we have tried to ignore her, hoping she would go away but she just keeps on coming back.
