Yesterday, she was welcomed by Haitian President Rene Preval to the presidential palace in Port-au-Prince. Her visit highlights Washington's support — symbolically and monetarily — for the poor and politically fragile nation.

Clinton's trip to Chicago was described as "personal business" in a press release, but happened after a request from Obama.

Back in 1993 when first lady Hillary Clinton visited the great Buddha on the outskirts of Tokyo, hundreds of people greeted her at the train station. Now, when she returns sixteen years later on her first overseas mission as Secretary of State, we'll find out if the Japanese still have love for Hillary.
Hillary's appointment received a mixed reaction in Japan, as some voiced concerned over her statements that China was the most important bilateral relationship for the US, and the cool US-Japanese relations under Bill Clinton.

Seven women who have shown leadership despite struggles with discrimination and inequality received awards. And, no, not feeling the purple bow tie either!

I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to find out who Barack Obama will appoint Secretary of State. I've come up with a few likely candidates for the position of top diplomat, and my list even includes a few Republicans!

Yesterday Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg welcomed Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands to New York City. The royals are in town to kick off the festivities for New York City's NY400 week. This year marks 400 years since Dutch traders departed from Amsterdam for what would become New York City.
