I thought this was a joke, but this career strategist must have seen these words in resumés before if she’s cautioning job-seekers not to use them. So, uh, if you were planning on telling a prospective employer you’re “habitually pregnant” or an “awesome Republican” - yeah, don’t do that.

Here are some words not to put on your resumé:

Awesome
Democrat
Chronically ill
Habitually pregnant
Atheist

Hey, you have to play to your strengths, right? That's exactly what a former marijuana-smuggler who served 10 years for importing 75 tons (gulp!) did a couple years ago when he was looking for a job. Good for him! I hope someone hired him. He's got cojones, that's for sure!

Is a Relationship Resume a Good Idea?

Wouldn't it be nice if instead of a guy handing you his number, he handed you his resume? His relationship resume that is! The folks at Resumes For Relationships seem to think so. According to their website, for a fee you can store your entire dating history in their database and then shoot it over to your crush in an e-card.

I wouldn't recommend sending your history of your relationships to anyone, but I kind of like the concept. It could be like an online dating profile, but condensed, portable, and with personal references! Okay, now I'm just being silly, but in all seriousness, what do you think of this concept? Is this a smart idea? Would you feel comfortable giving yours out?

How Not to Score a Job

The job market is competitive, but the following statements should help put things into perspective. These have been lifted from actual résumés submitted to prospective employers. Last I heard, unintentional self-deprecation isn't the best strategy for getting hired. And as for proofreading, it's not yet overrated . . .

Dear Poll: Do You Lie on Your Resume?

When you go on a job interview, we all want to impress our potential employers, but how far would you go to make yourself memorable? It's not uncommon to fudge your resume with little white lies, but just how dishonest would you be if you thought it would get you the job? Would you lie about where you went to school, where you have worked, or your GPA? Your secrets are safe here ladies, so what I want to know is, have you, or would you lie on your resume?

Ad-rageous: Bill Richardson's Job Interview

As a last, fond farewell for former candidate Bill Richardson, here's a very appropriate send off. I loved this ad highlighting his extensive foreign-policy accomplishments, executive experience as governor of New Mexico, and that sense of humor!

Richardson's résumé definitely made him a qualified candidate. Even though he couldn't pull off the nomination, he would be a wise choice for vice president or a cabinet position.
