5 Gays Talk Project Runway Fall, at Least One Blames Women

From moving to the West Coast, to the influx of celebrity judges, to casting drama over talent, five gay men have offered their theories on why viewership of Project Runway fell 25 percent between the premiere of season six and its ninth episode. One faults having three female finalists (though that happened on Bravo's final season too) saying:

"I am all for diversity and playing to your audience’s demographic, but please. And not to sound completely misogynistic, but three women as finalists? No fags? Really? These women were probably the most talented, but obviously when you tell the Bunim/Murray casting juggernaut, 'This is Lifetime: Television for Women, not talented gay male fashion designers,' you get what you get!"

While he jests (mostly), women probably miss the Christian Sirianos who sharpen their tongues before even threading a needle each morning just as much as gay men do. But what do I know? I only watched the first three episodes.

Fierce: The Hot Mess Make-Over Show

If SNL had its way, Christian Siriano - the fiercest Project Runway winner of all time - will get his own hot mess of a makeover show on Bravo. All them b*tches with nasty hot messes up in their closets will undergo a fiercification process to look and feel fierocious. It'll all be so fierce, even Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn will get up in this hot mess. SNL's Amy Poehler, playing Christian here, has an idea of how the show will go down:

This season of Project Runway is pretty much a one-man show starring Christian, the fiercest of the fierce. His hair is fierce, his ego is fierce, his models are fierce, his size eight (juniors) pants are fierce, and most of all, his talk is fierce. In fact, every other word is fierce. During season two of Project Runway, Santino pulled a dead-on impression of Tim Gunn out of his back pocket - and the crowd went wild. His impersonation became the running joke of the season. Through Santino, we heard Tim talk all about his innermost vulgar desires, including his secret obsession with "Andrae!" Gunn took the teasing in stride. Imitation is, after all, the sincerest form of flattery - right, Andrae?

A gay man, that is. Recently booted Project Runway contestant Jack MacKenroth might have a new reality television show in the works. Clearly, this hottie's got some talent. On the first episode of PR, I love how everyone was salivating over how hot he was, and when one of the women on the show asked, "Have you seen his abs?" he jokingly said, "Um, I'm still heeere!" Oh, it's hard to be an object of lust, Jack. I feel your pain. Heh heh.

Everyone loves a villain, and if you put a bunch of fashion people together, it's no surprise that some of them are going to get catty with each other. I thought it would take at least a few weeks for the cattiest person on this season of Project Runway to emerge, but boy was I wrong. Meet Christian: this dude better watch his back-cuz someone might yank that assymetrical mullet across the lawn at Bryant Park, and I wouldn't be surprised if it were one of the ladies. (Is it just me, or does he look just like Chris Kattan?!)

I watched last night's season three premiere of Mad Men; did you? However, my viewing party couldn't compete with the big bash held in New York's Times Square. Hundreds of fans in '60s attire joined Mad Men actor Brian Bhatt and Project Runway alum Laura Bennett to watch the new episode and compete in a preshow costume contest. Group Therapy: Are We Too Different?

I've known my boyfriend for years, and we dated for a short while a long time ago. We took some time apart to grow and mature, and now we've been in a committed relationship for a little over a year. Honestly, I've never been happier. He is kind, intelligent, understanding, supportive, and loving. He satisfies me spiritually, intellectually, and physically. We have great communication and trust. He always tells me how beautiful I am and reassures me that he loves me each day. And I've never felt passion the way I do with him. There is an undeniable connection between us. And my parents love him too!

However, there is one problem. We lack common interests! There are very few things we have in common, though we usually have a great time regardless. But as we get closer and even more serious, we notice we have fewer similarities. We have different goals, different outlooks on life, and different ideas of fun! I want to party and dance, he wants to stay home. I want to watch Project Runway, he wants to watch a documentary. We've talked about it, but nothing has been resolved.

Neither of us wants to end a good relationship due to what we feel is a minor issue, but we agree that it feels like something important is missing. We love each other very much and just want to make this work, so we continue to ignore the obvious. We'll both graduate from college soon and have plans to get a place together. It is a major step for me and I'm afraid things will get worse. I don't expect him to be a clone of myself, but I wonder, when is different too different? Should I fight for love or face the facts?
