I have never written on a bathroom wall. I have never thought to write on a bathroom wall. Though it's probably just a handful of prolific scribblers, I feel like the minority.

Is it better to live with a less-than-perfect match than to be single? The question is often answered with a guttural and emphatic no in public, but privately, it's probably wrestled with more often than you'd think by those who have contemplated forever.
In an article in the Daily Mail, 38-year-old British writer Lucy Taylor said that she is close to settling for Mr. Not Quite Right But Will Do Because My Time Is Running Out.

In 1960, 90 percent of American boys were circumcised. Today, studies put the rate at about 57 percent.
Since circumcision is not a given anymore, parents struggle with the decision of whether or not to snip a tiny piece of foreskin from their sons' penises.

Not every tragedy gets a quick and sweeping response from Congress, but eight days after a pet chimpanzee attacked and injured a woman, the House of Representatives passed a practical ban on chimps as house pets. The bill would ban transporting pets across state lines to be sold as pets.
Last week, Travis the chimp severely attack his owner's friend in Connecticut.

I've been hoarding examples of this phenomenon forever — and I got to thinking about them last week when foxie reminded me that Wal-Mart has been named one of the lowest carbon, greening businesses — admirable, even though many still find faults with their business practices and treatment of their employees.
My mind wandered to this question: when you make a purchase, are you funding more than just a business? Are you tithing toward the bigger philosophy of the company?

Yesterday the Senate voted to revamp government surveillance powers and grant retroactive immunity to telecom companies, thus ending all pending lawsuits filed to uncover the extent that Bush and the telecoms violated the Fourth Amendment prohibition of surveillance without warrants. Bush unsucessfuly tried to pass a similar bill under a Republican congress, but finally got what he wanted from the Democrats.
To the surprise of many, Barack Obama voted for the bill while Hillary Clinton opposed it.

Continuing the theme of co-opting "it's the economy stupid," John McCain delivered a speech moments ago with his thoughts on the housing crunch. Possibly going beyond Clinton's speech yesterday, McCain called the economic situation a "crisis."
Pegging blame on the mortgage fiasco, McCain said, "Any assistance must be temporary and must not reward people who were irresponsible at the expense of those who weren't."

Dear Sugar,
I am wanting to be in a relationship more than anything, but I have a problem. I'm really nervous about having sex because I'm embarrassed about being naked, and ashamed of how my private parts look. My breasts seem small to me, and I'm really hairy down there.

I've heard of singing in the shower--but on the bathroom floor?! Hey, you take inspiration where you can find it, and this cute little kid is practicing her pipes in what she thought was a private place. Belt it out, cutie!

DearSugar --
I am so insecure in my current relationship, but in reality, I know that I am being irrational and ridiculous. I am just getting divorced after a three year marriage from someone that didn't treat me like anything special. My new boyfriend has never done anything to make me doubt him or the way he feels about me and I believe him when he tells me he loves me.
