Do You Agree With Bristol Palin That Abstinence Is Unrealistic?

When Sarah Palin was running for vice president, it was all over the news that her daughter, Bristol Palin, only 17 years old, was pregnant and engaged to marry her high school boyfriend. Now 18 and a new mom, she's speaking out in hopes of preventing other young teens from becoming parents. In an interview with Greta Van Susteren on a recent FOX News segment, Bristol said she wants to be an advocate against teen pregnancy, and encourages all teens to wait 10 years until they're married, living in their own home, and stable in their career before starting a family.

Even though her mother is a staunch "right to life" advocate, Bristol believes that in this day and age, her mother's view on abstinence is "not realistic at all." So what do you think? Do you agree that sex is acceptable at a younger age now and pregnancy prevention is what should be the main focus in schools? Or should educators still try to push teens to be abstinent?

Since texting is so common these days, it's definitely had an effect on dating. For some of my friends, flirting with their significant others via text during the day helps keep the romance alive at night! And sure, a couple of flirty texts here and there is one thing, but a steamy text session is another! I’ve actually had more than one person confess to me that they love getting frisky via text. Frankly, it seems a bit tricky to me - I guess you have to have a really good imagination! Have you engaged in naughty texts? Or is a text the last thing you think of as sexy?

My best friend of 5 years and I recently started going out. Before me, he was with another girl for 3 years but he has repeatedly told me that he doesn't have feelings for her anymore.

This morning, he and I were having phone sex and in the middle of it, he said her name! I hung up and he called me back, leaving 12 messages about how much he loves me and how sorry he was - begging me to pick up the phone.

I really really like this guy and he claims to care for me the same way but I don't know how to react to what happened. I told him I don't want him speaking to his ex ever again but I am worried about giving him an ultimatum. He claims they are only friends and she means nothing to him but I'm worried he'll pick her "friendship" over me. What should I do? I don't want to lose him but I don't want him to think he can do things like that! Should I give him another chance?

It's pretty obvious that your boyfriend is NOT over this ex girlfriend. Thinking about her while he's being intimate with you is not ok! I'm not sure why they broke up, but if it was her decision (which I assume it was), he could quite probably still be in love with her.

You can ask him to stop speaking to her, but will that guarantee that he stops thinking about her too? Probably not. The problem here is that his thoughts and feelings are out of your control. You're so worried about losing him, but to tell you the truth, is doesn't sound like his heart and mind is 100% with you right now anyway.

He needs some time alone to get his feelings straight. If he's really in love with this other girl, but he can't be with her, then you don't want to be his second choice. On the other hand, if after some time he realizes that he truly wants to be with you, then he'll naturally forget about that other girl. You deserve all of his attention and nothing less. I hope this helps.

I wish I had a little bit more information from you, but I'm just going to have run with my gut instincts here. Bostonians Would Give Up Sex Over Cell Phones

What does it say about the future of the human race when people would rather give up sex for a year than go without a cell phone for the same amount of time? I guess it means that technological communication is truly becoming more important than old-fashioned face-to-face interaction, even the type of face-to-face interaction that involves having sex. Come on, people! What good is a booty call without the booty? Is sexting really better than sex?

In a survey sponsored by none other than Samsung Mobile, 31 percent of adults in Boston said they would rather give up sex for a year than go without cell phones for a year. Apparently, relying on email, hard-to-find pay phones, and immobile landlines is much more burdensome than forgoing sex.

Considering that I know people who literally sleep with their BlackBerrys, I suppose I'm not really that shocked by these results.

Flashback: The Village People Sing "Sex Over the Phone"
