When this story first broke, I think I was in 4th grade. And it was the funniest thing back then...it still makes me chuckle a bit now!

Nice to see Lorena's gotten along pretty well for herself. If they found her not guilty by insanity, did she ever get some mental treatment/help to try and understand what she did and work through why she snapped? Or was this just a crime of temporary insanity, so she didn't need counseling.

I think "insanity" was the jury's way of saying "sure she did it, but she suffered enough, get out of here". clearly he is scum and clearly something drove her to do what she did. and what a great country we live in where someone can be victimized, then vilified, and then turn both experiences into a happy life and good work for society.

I get that our country doesn't codone vigilante justice. Yet even though I have never personally taken the law into my own hands, I can certainly understand why someone would go that route. The jury ended up acquiting him of rape, and chances are he would have gotten away with that crime completely if she hadn't chopped "it" off.

OMg I will never forget this story. It sounds so crazy but I am sure there are other woman who have thought of it at times but just never gone through with it.

A guy assaulted me at a frat party and I did the slap, grab, twist and pull maneuver on him - when a man tries to take advantage of a woman physically we're told to get them where it hurts...so I kind of understand her lopping off his junk.

I know someone who was in a similar pickle (pun intended) as Lorena. Except instead of cutting it off, she took some super glue and, while at "full mast" glued "it" to his leg. You can see the dilemma when "it" decided to call it a night...

It amuses me to see how two-faced women really are (indeed double standard). What is the rational to say that he deserved it? Know some facts before you open your vulgar mouths (minds in this case)

1. The E.R. Doctor. who examined Lorena Bobbitt on June 1993 said that he found no proof of rape & that her conduct was inconsistent with that of a rape victim. The jury in John Bobbitt's 1993 marital rape trial acquitted him based among other things his findings. Furthermore, Lorena Bobbitt 1st said that she was raped & then said that she cut his penis off because he didn't give her an orgasm!

2. Domestic violence in the past of Bobbitt couple was mutual & that both John & Lorena Bobbitt had called the cops in the past to report domestic violence.

3. You correctly point out that John was arrested and convicted after this incident and conveniently leave out the fact that Lorena Bobbitt's Dec. 1997 arrest for assault&battery or abuse&battery for hitting her own mom during a quarrel over the bills. Victim who in this case being Lorena Bobbitt's mom did not want to prosecute & did not cooperate with the prosecutors, then it's hard to convict & admittedly the prosecutor had a tough case which resulted in the April 1998 acquittal.

I did expect some extremist opinion for some women but I was hoping that there would be some sensible women out there. But I am now convinced that your entire breed is rotten in the head.

I am not saying that John was a saint or anything but neither was Lorena. I think violence against men is in fashion in this country. If victim is women you all (disgusting) women start jumping up and down with jingoism but it’s funny and amusing to you if the victim is man………..I hope someday some man will pay you all back with interest……………One thought men…….How about creating vibrator bomb to begin with?
