Despite the recession and shaky economy, most Americans are optimistic about what lies ahead in 2009. A new poll shows expectations for better conditions were higher among younger generations with 64 percent of those under 45 having an optimistic view.
Younger Americans were more likely to adopt New Year's resolutions as well.

In this Nike ad, a woman makes good on her promise to "bob for lobsters" if she doesn't maintain her new year's resolutions. Yowza. If I fall short of a) exercising every day and b) writing the great American novel within the next year--I'll just make up new resolutions!

Every year I make the same New Year's resolution — to religiously floss my teeth, and I am happy to say that just in the nick of time, I finally followed through this year! Hurray for healthy gums!
