Spelling Bee Contestant Turned Comedian

This must be the first contestant in the history of spelling bees who doesn't take himself or the game too seriously. That's because he's a regular 'ole comedian, this kid. That is, if an awkwardly inserted and delivered pop culture reference during a spelling tournament counts as comedy. With this crowd, it didn't. Poor kid.

I can't say that I'm a big fan of World Of Warcraft or video games in general, but I am tickled by the glory dances that the various WOW characters effortlessly bust out on command. And who knew they were inspired by some of our favorite dance superstars? MC Hammer, Wacko Jacko, comedian turned Chippendale's hunk Chris Farley, and Napoleon Dynamite to name a few. Heck yes!

Napoleon Dynamite: Amateur Musician?

Although he doesn't know how to play any instruments, this amateur musician--using stop-motion filming techniques, a piano, a drum, and some well-placed hollering--makes more creative music than a lot of so-called pros. His outfit when he starts playing the piano is pretty rad and, bonus: he looks a little like Napoleon Dynamite.

GS: What’s your motto?
KiDoE: I would if I could, but I can’t, so I won’t.

GS: Where are you from?
KiDoE: SoCal! But would love to live in New York.

GS: What do you do?
KiDoE: I am an Inventory Reconciliation Manager. (They let me come up with the title myself.)

GS: How would you describe your sense of humor?
KiDoE: I am the LOL type . . . I hold nothing back! I even ROTFL and sometimes LMAO. If your ever having quiet time and hear a burst of laughter, that’s me!

GS: What’s your favorite GiggleSugar post?
KiDoE: My all-time favorite post is Dangerously Cute Kitten. I had to go back a few times. I couldn’t get enough of that video!

GS: Who’s the cutest funny man and funny woman?
KiDoE: Sacha Baron Cohen (he’s “bery niice”) and Isla Fisher. I think she’s cute and I loved her in Wedding Crashers.

GS: Who are your favorite male and female comedians?
KiDoE: Dave Chappelle and Wanda Sykes (And G.Lo = George Lopez, had to sneak him in, hehehehe!)

GS: What’s your favorite comedy of all time?
KiDoE: Borat and Napoleon Dynamite, both dumb movies like me. When I was younger, we would go to the local video rental store and pick out movies. My cousin and I would pick our movies and the adults theirs. My uncle would always look at our selection and say “Dumb movies for dumb people.” LOL.

GS: If your life were a comedy, what would it be?
KiDoE:It would be a lot like Half-Baked I think this is self explanatory - LOL.

GS: Do you look like someone famous? Some say I look like Kelis others say I look like Devon Aoki (they’re all lies to me). I think I look like my famous self (confident much?).

KiDoE Free-for-all: My name is Nancy. I’m 22-years-old. I’m engaged and will be getting married either December 2008 or in four weeks! LOL. We’re crazy that way. I have two cats, Milo and Baby, and we are expecting . . . expecting another cat (LOL gotcha!). I go to school for photography, I love to cook, bake, read, write, and drive around listening to music. And I strongly believe that you can only make yourself happy, so whatever blows your skirt up, just go for it! I love you Giggle! OH! OH! And when I grow up I want to be just like Britney Spears!

GS: What’s your motto?
EKD: I am pretty much a "Everything happens for a reason" kind of girl, so I just take life in stride!

GS: Where are you from?
EKD:Oklahoma City, Oklahoma . . . I know, redundant, but who knows one day there may be an Oklahoma City, Alaska and then everyone would have to ask which one?

GS: What do you do?
EKD: I work for an insurance company. I am in the home office, but I am an agent for our employees and a trainer for new agents on our computer system. I am also a massage therapist on the side. I love people.

GS: How would you describe your sense of humor?
EKD: Sarcastic with a side of unfunny (at least according to my teenager).

GS: What’s your favorite GiggleSugar post?
EKD: Any of the Japanese game shows! I dig those, I mean gosh who wouldn't want to be that free and not feel like you should have to worry about pride?

GS: Who’s the cutest funny man and funny woman?
EKD: Okay I love John Heffron, I think he is down-to-earth cute! I have a girl crush on Ellen DeGeneres.

GS: Who are your favorite male and female comedians?
EKD:Nick Swardson and Janeane Garofalo.

GS: What’s your favorite comedy of all time?
EKD: There are so many to choose from here, but I am on a Grandma's Boy kick right now, not sure if it is worthy of all time status, I could also go Napoleon Dynamite here, too.

GS: If your life was a comedy, what would it be?
EKD: Meet the Parents, because I totally have poor Ben Stiller's luck when it comes to some things in life. But, I have never milked a cat.

GS: Do you look like someone famous?
EKD: Kathy Bates is who I would come closest too, lol!!! No, I don't think I look like anyone famous.

EKD free-for-all: I live life, love life, take care of two awesome kids, and a decent husband (haha, he doesn't get on here so I am safe), try to keep everything as light as I can! I like exclamation points as you can see! I think everything needs a little emphasis, because it is all important. I hope I can bring a little smile to people at least once a day. I love tattoos, but since I am a working professional I have five that are easily hidden. I am a Disney freak! I love my DVR, I watch too much TV because of it, but at my own time, which is AWESOME! And that, my friend, is pretty much my story.

GiggleSugar Reader Spotlight: Schaianne

It's that time again, readers. It's "get to know your fellow GiggleSugar readers" time! Meet Schaianne, Emergency/911 dispatcher by day, married step-mom and Sugar sites addict by night! (Okay, I'm exaggerating, and I don't know her shifts!!) Man, with a job like that, no wonder she needs to stop by GiggleSugar and look at cute animals and weird pics!

GS: What's your motto?
Schaianne: "Do unto others as you'd have done unto you" basically. Other than that … I'd say "Life's full of idiots – try to steer clear!" - myself NOT included, of course! LOL

GS: Where are you from?
Schaianne: Long story short : I was born in Friedburg, W Germany but live in Virginia now. I grew up an Army Brat, if that explains it. Maybe one day I can convince hubby to move, but looks like we'll be here a good long time. Ehhh, not a BAD thing, I guess.

GS: What do you do?
Schaianne: As in work related? I am an Emergency/911 dispatcher at my local sheriff's office. I have been dispatching for about 7 years total now. I routinely deal with fire departments, rescue squads, police/sheriff, game warden, animal control, jails, after-hours electric/water, Social Services, and, well, you name it. As you can imagine, the stress of this job gets to you sometimes and that's one reason I love my Sugar sites!! They provide some well needed respite from the seriousness and aggravation of my job! I'm also a part time stepmother - well, it's never JUST part-time, y'know ... she's always in my thoughts and plans even if she's not here physically. I think it's one of the hardest job ever!

GS: How would you describe your sense of humor?
Schaianne: Hmm, according to my partner here at work … lacking, haha! Seriously, strange & twisted I'd have to say. I find a lot of stuff funny that most people don't , thanks to being a dispatcher for 7.5 years – it's our defense mechanism. By the same token, though, I cringe while watching "America's Funniest Videos" and the like. People getting hurt usually just makes me think of dispatching squads to them. I'll find stuff funny at work that outside of work I wouldn't.

GS: What's your favorite GiggleSugar post?
Schaianne: Hmm, too hard to choose just one – but I like the WTF?! posts best.

GS: Who's the cutest funny man and funny woman?
Schaianne: Ummm, Michael Keaton and Brett Butler, I guess. I've never really thought of it.

GS: Who are your favorite male and female comedians?
Schaianne: (Wow, super hard questions here … so difficult to choose! There are so many great comedians out there!) Gene Wilder and Lily Tomlin are way up there, in my opinion.

GS: What's your favorite comedy of all time?
Schaianne: I love A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. It's older, kitschy, and gasp--a musical! It's hilarious!! I have to thank Mr. Winn, my high school Latin teacher, for introducing me to it! (I don't like many of today's comedies – Napoleon Dynamite did NOTHING for me.) As for favorite comedy show, I LOVE "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" Those guys are GREAT!

GS: If your life were a comedy, what would it be?
Schaianne: Probably "Grace Under Fire."

GS: Do you look like someone famous?
Schaianne: I don't think so. No one's told me so, anyway.

Schaianne's Free For All: Well, I'm 35 years old (will be 36 in Sept!!) and I've been married 18 years. Family and God mean everything to me, which doesn't coincide with what my job demands at times. I dislike conflict but WILL cause waves if I feel no one else is going to stand up. I'm half German and therefore am very opinionated and a bit of a perfectionist! I have recently learned to say "NO" … wow, now to learn not to feel so guilty when I say that, haha! All in all, I'm pretty laid back … just don't mess with one of "mine" – then I'm a momma bear! Lastly, I LOVE to laugh. I think laughter is one of God's greatest gifts to us! One reason hubby and I have stayed married as long as we have is his ability to make me laugh … even when I don't WANT to, haha. He's the best! And, thanks for taking an interest in little, ole me.
